Chapter:1

Third POV

As Arianna ran away from the chaotic building with the two girls in her arms,silent tears ran down her cheeks as she mourned her sister. She hoped that they would have had more time together but it seems as if fate was not on their side. Even with their elemental powers they could not fight Damon,he was just too powerful for them.

After hours of running,Arianna soundlessly collapsed from exhaustion. She could not stop the tears of sorrow running down her face. She was angry at the world ,angry at Damon,and angry at the goddess who had failed to protect her sister and her brother-in-law from the evil of this world. Her sister was still young,at just 29 years of age,she had her world ripped from under her. Her 9 year old daughters,left with no parents or family but Arianna alone.

Arianna cuddled the two babies close to her body to keep them warm and whispered words of comfort into their ears as though nothing was wrong.
As if sensing that something was wrong Beatrice started inquiring about her mother. Arianna knew that as long as they were in the forest,they where not safe,and Beatrice's loud talking would attract predators to them.

Arianna gently placed Bellatrix on the forest floor,so she could attend to Beatrice. She tried soothing Bea by feeding her fake reassurance of her parent's well-being that brought her immense feelings of guilt to no avail, after a few minutes Arianna realised that Beatrice was hungry,but as they were in the forest there was little that was safe to eat, especially for the young children.

Arianna continued to pet Bea and try to put her to sleep. As she was too preoccupied with Bea,she failed to notice the unearthly silence in the forest. She was oblivious to the bright purple eyes watching from the shadows.

She got startled when she heard sudden snarling. As the creatures appeared from the darkness, she recognised them as wolves. From their bright purple eyes she knew that they were werewolves. As a total of seven wolves surrounded her and the kids, Arianna knew she had little chance of success. What she did not know was why the wolves were there as she was not on their territory and they were not feral.

She stood up while standing protectively beside the babies. Bea's wailing had stopped abruptly as if she had noticed the severity of the situation that they were in.
Arianna got into her fighting stance and waited for the wolves to attack.

The wolves all charged forward at the same time. Arianna knew that this was a fight she would lose but she kept her stance.

Surprisingly,only five of the wolves attacked,she was astonished by this until she saw the other two edging closer to the babies. She grew furious as she saw one of them shift into her naked human form and pick up Beatrice. In her fit of rage she managed to kill three of the five wolves and injure the other two.

She quickly ran towards the other two and struggled with the naked she-wolf to recover Bea safely before she snapped her neck. While she was distracted by the she-wolf,the other wolf snatched Bella and fled with her.

Arianna swiftly picked up Beatrice from the rough ground and ran after the wolf. Though she was fatigued,she ran nimbly so she could uphold the promise she made to her sister. Just as she was about to catch up to the wolf,who ran like lightning,she was stopped by an invisible wall. She had reached a pack border that restricted her from venturing any further.

She tried with all her might to go past the wall but couldn't. As she was still banging on the wall,she saw several wolves approaching and due to their number she knew that she had to leave.

Panicked,as she her only logical choice was to leave Bella behind and save Bea or risk losing them both.

She fled the scene with little to no strength. She ran for a day with no stop so she could get as far away from the pack as possible for Bea's safety. As she ran Bea started crying due to her hunger and confusion of her sister's absence.

She came across an inn, luckily she had some money on her so she was able to rent a room for a night. The kind owners had also lent her some necessities, new clothing and a blanket for Bea. She fed Bea and put her to sleep before she began to reminisce the past day's events.

It had hardly been a day since she promised her sister to protect her children but she had already broken it.

"What a disgrace I am,I'm hopeless,I couldn't even protect a small child for less than a day,"Arianna cried as she looked at Bea who was sleeping peacefully not realising the seriousness of the situation just yet.

Arianna drifted off to sleep with a heavy heart while thinking about her family.

The next day Arianna woke up early in the morning and prepared to leave. She made sure Bea was well fed and that they had enough resources for the remainder of their trip.

She left the inn after thanking the kind woman and her husband for their help. She still had approximately an hour and a half before she reached her destination.

Even with her heavy heart,she made sure to venture on safely. She remained assertive of her surroundings as she did not want a repeat of the previous day.

After a long and tiresome run,Arianna arrived at Deadbay cliff. It was called that because anyone who fell down,flew over or ran by,was never found again. It was so high up that the low ground could not be seen from the top off the cliff. It was a risk in itself to just merely stand by the edge. It was like their bodies just disappeared into thin air.

Arianna stood mesmerised by the beauty of the waterfall that flowed just opposite the cliff. Though she had seen it a thousand times before,she never got used to the view.

As she watched with Bea by her side,tears started streaming down her face. She looked to the sky and thought of the family that she had lost.

"I'm sorry sister for letting you down,hope you can find it in you to forgive me. I don't know how I'll be able to live with myself after what I have done. I'm truly and deeply sorry,"she cried.

Without any further thoughts,Arianna jumped down the cliff,Bea in tow.
