Chapter 10

Two months seemingly passed in a blink of an eye. Regina cradled Henry against her shoulder, as she supervised the crew of workers rushing around the back yard, setting up tables and chairs, preparing the yard for the party Regina was throwing in a few hours. The DJ was setting up his equipment in the corner as the caterers hurried in and out of the kitchen, preparing the food to be served in a few hours.

"I still can't believe you invited these people to your house." Ruby said, as she made faces at Henry over Regina's shoulder. "You do remember they left the Pack, right?"

"Yes, I remember." Regina said, rolling her eyes. "But at one point, they were part of our Pack. My father threw a party when I was born, I want that same luxury." Regina said.

"Whatever you say, Regina." Ruby smiled, reaching for Henry. "Now, are you going to give me my Nephew, or do I have to pry him from your arms?" Ruby laughed, as Regina passed a sleepy Henry to Ruby.

Within the next hour, the backyard was filled with fifty or more people, all milling around talking amongst themselves, enjoying the party. Regina made her rounds, greeting their guests, encouraging them to help themselves to the appetizers and drinks, while Emma sat at the head table with Ruby and Granny, Henry being passed between the two other women.

"Regina, it appears that a bomb has just gone off in your son's diaper." Ruby laughed, a disgusted look on her face, as she passed Henry back to Regina.

"I'll take care of it." Regina laughed, as she cuddled Henry in her arms. "When I get back I think I'll make my speech." Regina added, as she disappeared into the house to change Henry's diaper.

"May I have your attention please!" Regina shouted, as the DJ turned the music off suddenly. Regina was standing next to Emma at the head table, Henry squirming around in her arms, Ruby and Granny seated next to Emma. "I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for coming today. I know many of you have not been a part of this Pack for quite a while, and I am honored that you have chosen to attend today. I have two very big announcements today. The first, I would like to introduce my Wife, Emma Swan-Mills, as well as introduce our newborn son, and my Heir, Henry Daniel Swan-Mills." Regina said, pausing as the crowd of people clapped and welcomed Emma and Henry. "The second announcement is one that affects many of you. I know many of you were forced to leave the Pack due to a decree made by my father, many years ago, before many of us were even born. The decree forbids any Wolf to remain a member of the Pack if they chose to spend their lives with Humans. It destroyed the Pack, in my opinion, and forced most of you to choose between Love and Family. I am here to formally announce that, as of today, I repeal that decree. If you are a Wolf who has chosen to spend their lives with a Human, I officially welcome you back to the Pack, if you choose. If you are a child of a Wolf, just because you do not shift during the full moon, you still have Wolf blood in your veins, I welcome you into the Pack. If you have chosen to spend your life with a Wolf, even if no Wolf blood flows in your veins, I consider you part of our Family and I welcome you into the Pack. To those who wish to return, know the doors are always open, and you are always welcome! Let's begin to rebuild what we have lost over the years!" Regina said, as many of the younger attendees clapped and cheered. "Now, let's share a meal together! And celebrate this time of change!" Regina concluded, motioning towards the many tables of food, the buffet open. Regina sat back down and watched as people made their way over to the food, waiting for most of the guests to grab a plate before making her own way over, preparing a plate for herself and Emma, making sure Emma had plenty to eat.

A few hours later, Regina was enjoying the afternoon, never leaving Emma's side after her initial welcome rounds, making sure to take Henry when he needed a diaper change or Emma needed to eat.
