The taller latter crawled carefully to the edge

The shorter following suit

As to make sure the chain on the cuff

Didn't yank or pull to the point of pain.

"What do you see?"

"Nothing."

"Thats all?"

"You mean to say you haven't looked in your own consciousness before?"

"I don't do deep minded meditation."

"And from the looks of it you 'don't do' self-reflection either."

He ignored the blatantly obvious insult.

As he did with all of the other snag, rude remarks

That always seemed to roll off of his tongue

Without flaw

He just wouldn't stop talking.

Nor a blessing nor curse

At least his voice was loud enough

To remind him he finally was not alone here

Like he would have realized

If he did do

Said 'Deep meditation.'

He was thankful

For the chatterbox's presence

But he wanted to go deaf

At some of his sly remarks

"Do you think we could jump off?"

"Are you bloody insane?!"

"It wouldn't hurt to try."

"Don't even, Trancy."
