"Mr. President." The ambassador greeted courteously as the other invited him to sit while the Vulcan Ambassador sat in the sit front of him.
"I didn't know there were Lombax in the Federation." He turned his attention to Ratchet as Spock introduced him "This is the first officer of the USS Verity. Ratchet Riker Troi. He just graduated from Starfleet academy as one of the best."
"Oh, he looks very young but he's made an impressive achievement. But we're not here for flattery, Let's talk about contact from both governments."
The president was talking about Polaris and the situation as was Spock paying attention and looking for option that might be useful in forging an alliance.
Hours had passed but Qwark and Rivet were feeling bored except for Ratchet who was paying attention to Ambassador Spock's political skills, if he wanted to be a good captain he should pay attention to how one of the Federation's most decorated diplomats work.
Ratchet could see how the president was beginning to feel satisfied "Hm.... Very interesting proposals, Ambassador Spock. I will speak with the leaders of the planets at a meeting to see what the verdict is."
Spock nodded "I thank you very much, Mr. President."
The other alien nodded "Of course, ambassador. Allow me to invite you for dinner later after the meeting with the leaders of the other planets."
The Vulcan nodded "Thank you, Mr. President." Spock nodded once more "If you will excuse me."
The president smiled as he looked at the two people standing. "Qwark, Rivet. Show Ambassador Spock and Commander Ratchet the Library."
They both nodded as they escorted Ambassador Spock's entourage.
Ratchet walked beside him curious "Ambassador, I'm curious." The Vulcan curiously at the Lombax who continued "How did you evade most of the Federation's military weapons delivery proposals?"
"Some planets suffer from food problems, one of the causes of there being many planets with food shortages. And manpower assistance with home construction."
"I see, you had more consideration for civilians." Ratchet replied thoughtfully "Perhaps the replicator would help eliminate starvation."
"One of the advantages young Ratchet. At the same time as we request access with our Starfleet ships have access to Polaris and help to stop the pirates."
"Starfleet will see it as an opportunity to learn about Solana and Polaris." Ratchet replied happily as the green hero man stopped them "Gentlemen. I welcome you to the greatest Library of Knowledge in all of Polaris and Solana!"
Ratchet looked confused "Can you afford them?" Qwark chuckled "My furry friend, of course! This is also in the public domain." He opened the doors revealing the huge room of books.
Rivet sighed bored "Reading is a drag."
Ratchet chuckled as he denied "To me I see it as valuable. The culture books display very interesting information."
The group walked in as they proceeded to see what's in the books. Spock seemed intrigued about some of the books.
Ratchet then noticed a book "The Great War, but it seems incomplete." He took the book from the shelf as he began to read it, he was surprised to see that his race was one of the most advanced in the galaxy.
He walked over to a table as he sat down with Rivet next to him "Ah. That book, I read it too. They don't say much about how the Cragmites defeated. It's like it's missing data."
Ratchet paid attention to the holographic book, it spoke of the war between his people and the Cragmite Empire, and how this Empire devoured the natural resources of the conquered planets. They were similar to the Borgs, they assimilated the worlds but instead of assimilating people they took all the resources of the planet. And as the Lombax stood up to them against this Empire but did not specify how.
