Christian rode through the woods together with the knights, Gwydion and his son for a visit to the closest Kingdoms. After the grave news yesterday of his own people being slaughtered by Melinda's men, he wanted to make sure the still magical creatures of Shivanna was on his side. He hoped to form alliances with them as soon as possible so they would not be alone fighting The Darkness Witches. Their journey stopped by the sounds of faint crying. "Father, what's that?," Aranel asked worriedly. Christian got off his horse and drew Solderà. His sword Gwydion had made for him. "I don't know," he answered, "But I intend to find out," And they went off fallowing the sounds of the faint crying.
They came a bit closer towards a valley of thick trees. Christian slowly stepped closer, his son fallowing behind him with Gwydion and the knights. They noticed that they soon started stepping on broken branches and Christian saw something silvering glowing faintly a bit from them. They all swallowed in sadness and sympathy when they saw a fairy sitting on the ground, crying with her left wing injured, broken maybe. And her clothes were slightly torn. "Hey," Christian said gently, squatting down by the fairy and slowly holding out his hand to touch her. The fairy immediately screamed and pushed herself backwards. "Easy, My Lady!," Christian said calmly, "We're not going to hurt you. We're going to help you," The fairy shook her head fearfully and Gwydion stepped forward. "Look," he said and cupped his hands. "Estillis," he pronounced a spell and opened his hands to reveal a beautiful blue butterfly flying out of his hands. The fairy smiled weakly. "See, I'm like you," he said, "I have magic," The fairy smiled softly. "Leclitras are no similar to wizards," she explained, smiling. Gwydion shrugged. "We kind of are," he explained. Christian squatted down by the fairy once again. "I'm The King of Westrose," he explained, "My men and I are going to help you. But I need to know your name first and you need to tell me what happened to you," The Fairy swallowed fearfully. "Laila," she whimpered, "My name is Laila, noble fairy of Queen Nerida," Christian nodded gently. "Alright Laila," he said, "You have to tell me, are you hurting anywhere expect your wings?," Laila swallowed but nodded weakly. "Can you show us where you're hurting?," Christian asked. Laila swallowed but showed him the small cut wounds on her arm and Gwydion also noticed the scratch wounds on the fairy's back. Christian looked at the fairy worriedly. "Do you think you're strong enough to move?," he asked. Laila nodded slowly and Christian carefully helped the fairy up. "We have to get her back to Emmett," Gwydion explained and Christian nodded.
Emmett gently cleaned Laila's wounds, Christian slightly watching them. "Emmett, will her wing heal?," Aranel asked worriedly. "It must, right?," Melodiana asked. Emmett smiled weakly at Laila. "My wings will heal faster than you know once I regain my strength and magic," The fairy explained. "What did you do in the woods?," Emmett asked worriedly, "Your kind is not usual this close to humans," Laila sighed deeply. "As I am one of the Queen's closest fairies, I use to patrol with the fairy guards. Everything went as usual until we were attacked by force of men, soldiers. They demanded that the Queen pledge elegance to their Mistress Of The Dark Witches. Melinda was her name, I think. But we would not obey. And when we did not obey, they attacked us right were we stood. I alone escaped and I don't know what happened to the rest of the guard. I fear they may not have survived. And their leader, he was the worst. Just killing the fairies just one by one with no emotion at all. And without mercy. I wanted to stay with my people. I chose not to go with Faylinn and now this," Emmett looked at her sadly. "Aurora Daughter of Erline was your bounded sister. I know who she was, but she existed long before even my time," Christian sighed sadly. "Laila, if your people will help us defeat my sister, I promise no harm will ever come to your kind ever again," Laila smiled weakly. "Thank you, Christian Eaglewood and Ambrose," Gwydion smiled softly at the fairy. Emmett stood up. "I should send a message to your Queen and tell her you're safe here in Westrose," Laila smiled weakly and glanced at her wings that slowly started to heal magically.
After getting the fairy cleaned up, they fallowed Laila out of the castle. Christian and Adelina gave her a worried look. "Careful now, my friend," Emmett told Laila. Laila turned towards the human physician. "I'm a over thousand years old fairy! I know what I'm doing," she shouted. Laila closed her eyes and slowly lifted from the ground. "I can fly again!," she exclaimed and started flying around, laughing. She flew over to Christian and the others. "Thank you so much all of you," she exclaimed happily. "Of course," Christian said, "No one deserves to be tormented by Melinda," Laila smiled and stood down on the ground and took in her wings. "Now I can go home again," she said softly. She turned her head and glanced towards Christian who nodded for her to go. "I will take your request to Queen Nerida," she said. "There will be no need for that," Nerida interrupted suddenly. Laila turned around and Nerida hurried to hug the young fairy tightly. "Laila, we were so worried about you," she explained, "We thought you too had perished in the attack," Laila then looked down sadly as she understood what the Queen meant. She had been the only one to survive Melinda's men's attack. Nerida looked at Laila sadly. "Child, don't blame yourself," she said softly, "It's not your fault. These witches has no heart, they never did," she finished. Nerida walked over to Christian and smiled thankfully. "There's no way to describe how thankful we are that you and your people saved her. No man has saved a fairy in over thousands of years," she explained, "Tell me, what can we give to repay you," Christian smiled softly. "The only thing I ask is your allegiance in the war against The Dark Witches," Nerida smiled softly. "That you have with great thankfulness," she explained. The fairy Queen turned and walked over to Laila and they flew away.
Melinda faced her son and Dimitri sighed deeply. "I'm sorry if I have disappointed you, Mother," he excused, "It won't happen again," Melinda smiled softly. "Don't worry, my son," she said, "You have made me so proud. Now when we have your father's attention, the fun can really begin," Dimitri smiled wickedly and Melinda smiled wickedly back at her son. "It's finally time you introduce yourself to your father," she explained, "And I have the perfect way to do that. With the help of my dear brother's seventeen year old daughter," And Dimitri smiled wickedly and Cerridwen walked over and joined them. Their plan was slowly unfolding and the final battle was soon to begin.
