"Would you like to come inside so we can introduce ourselves properly?" A girl with blonde hair and a sophisticated suit suggested. I nodded in agreement, and we all made our way into the hotel. As everyone settled on the couch, I remained standing.
"Are you not going to sit down, toots?"
"I can't. I need to stay on my feet, to think. What did I do wrong? Did I miscalculate the equation? Maybe Dad was right, and I shouldn't have messed with time travel." With a heavy sigh, I expressed my frustration.
"Whoa, whoa. Are you okay?" The blonde girl, Charlie, asked, placing her hand on my shoulder.
"Not really. But I'll find a way to cope. So, what are your names?" I spoke with renewed determination.
"I'm Charlie. That's Vaggie, Husk, Niffty, Alastor, and you already know Angel Dust."
"Hargreeves. Y/n Hargreeves." I smiled, noticing that Alastor, the alluring red demon, seemed particularly captivated by me.
"How did you end up here?" Vaggie inquired.
"I projected my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state, existing across all possible instances of time." Everyone, except Alastor, regarded me with confusion. Alastor, on the other hand, seemed to comprehend, flashing me a broader smile. I thought to myself, 'Well, at least someone here understands.' I sighed.
Observing Alastor approaching me, his arm casually draped over my shoulder, he spoke softly, "Fear not, my dear. I comprehend your words."
"Unfortunately, we don't. Care to dumb it down?" Angel interjected eagerly.
"A few years ago, Five sought to prove our father wrong, to demonstrate his readiness for time travel. He got trapped somewhere, and I've been determined to bring him back ever since. So, I used my time-traveling abilities to create a portal, which somehow led me to this place."
"Oh, wow. I'm so sorry," Charlie sympathized, walking up to me. I shrugged.
"Can you provide us with your entire backstory?" Angel chimed in, his excitement palpable.
"Sure, buckle up. On one extraordinary day, 43 women gave birth to exceptional babies worldwide, despite not being pregnant when the day began. My father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an eccentric billionaire and adventurer, managed to find and adopt eight of these babies. Instead of giving us names, he referred to us by numbers. I was number Eight. He always claimed that we would save the world from an impending doomsday," I chuckled. "I used to think he said it just to scare us into doing the dishes. As for my powers, they're quite extensive. While my siblings possess one or two abilities each, I was fortunate enough to receive more. I possess telepathy, telekinesis, mirror magic, ice and fire manipulation, levitation, cryokinesis, pyrokinesis, necromancy, reality manipulation through rumors, laser vision, empathic powers, teleportation, super speed, and countless other abilities yet to be discovered. Together, we were known as The Umbrella Academy." As I finished, everyone stared at me in awe.
A giggle escaped my lips. "Now, what about your own backstories?"
They took turns sharing their personal histories, each tale leaving me increasingly astonished. I was particularly taken aback by Alastor's true identity and his immense power. 'There's someone out there who's as formidable as me! That's fucking awesome!' The thought filled me with excitement.
Glancing toward Alastor, I noticed his grin growing bigger, if that was even possible.
"Why thank you, my dear." He said with an even bigger grin than before.
I was shocked he actually knew what I was thinking and then remembered his powers. I blushed a bit, looking away hoping he didn't notice, but he did.
