In the middle of the road

~Iruka's POV~

We both fell asleep cuddling each other. When I woke up I saw kakashi sleeping next to me. His face peaceful while he slept hugging my waist. It was a bit too crammed for the both of us on the couch. But it was cozy and warm at the same time. His body was warm against mine. I thought of the other night. What we did. Was it really a one night stand? Why did he come to me of all people last night? I get that his house is far away on the other side of town, but he has friends all around town. He could've gone to anyone. Why me?

'knock, knock!" I heard a knock at the door. I tried to get up to answer the door without waking kakashi up. But as soon as i started to move, he opened his eyes.

~Kakashi's POV~

I woke up to someone moving against me. I opened my eyes to see Iruka sitting next to me on the couch. It took me a good whole minute to realize that I'm in his house and not my own. Right! I was returning from my S-rank and I was injured. So I came here instead of going home.

Someone continued to knock at Iruka's door. He stood up slightly blushing? Is he blushing? Omg he's so cute!

" Hai! Hai! Please come in ANBU-san. He's here. " Iruka stepped away from the door as an ANBU came in.

" My apologies Hatake-san! Hokage-sama wants to see you immediately. We had to track down your chakra to here since you weren't at your home. Then I will take my leave. " The wolf maksed ANBU then disappeared. I stood up immediately and gathered my stuff.

"I-I'm sorry Iruka but I, er...I have to go now. And, er....t-thank you very much for last night! Heh heh duty calls! " I said giving him my signature curvey-eyed smile. For some reason I'm feeling very nervous and keep remembering the events from the other night. What the hell is wrong with me? It was just a drunken mistake right?

" So how was your mission Kakashi? I didn't hear anything from you last night. I hope everything went okay? I was waiting for the report as this was a very important S-rank mission." Hokage-sama said as I entered his office.

"I was a bit injured and had to go home straight hokage-sama. I was thinking of reporting in the morning. My apologies for making you wait hokage-sama. " I said bowing.

"Oh so how are you now? Did you get any treatment? You are to go straight to the hospital after reporting to me." Hokage-sama said sternly giving me no room to argue.

"Hai Hokage-sama. Then I will give you my mission report now..."

As I was going home from the hospital after getting treated to my wounds, I met Iruka near Ichiraku ramen.

"Kakashi! How are you? Did you get your wounds treated?" He asked looking at me with concerned eyes. I can't stop thinking about how cute he is. And at that moment the other night's memories came rushing in. I want to kiss him so bad! So bad! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

"Kakashi? Are you okay?" I realized that I was certainly spacing out at the moment. But when I looked forward to answer his question I saw that he was actually LEANING FRONT AND LOOKING IN MY FACE ALL WORRIED!!! Ahhhhhh!!! I can't take it anymore! I pull my mask down, grabbed him by his waist and crushed my lips against his RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!! Luckily there weren't many people around.

" 'kashi! Hmm....mmm...'kashi! Mmm...
ka-KAKASHI! " Iruka grabbed me by my the colar of my chunin vest and shouted in my face. We were both panting from the lack of air. I feel the heat rushing up my neck to my cheeks. OHH WHAT THE HECK DID I DO? WHY THE HECK DID I DO THAT ANYWAYS? WHAT THE F*CK WAS I THINKING??!!! HE'S SO GONNA HATE ME NOW DAMN IT!!!

"I-Iruka, Im s-sorry! I-Im s-sorry Iruka! I d- didn't mean to... Not n-now I m-mean..... I r-really l-like you! Oh shit! " I mumbled like an idiot.

~Iruka's POV~

What the hell just happened? WHAT IN THE WORLD DID HE SAY???!!!

" Y-You.... l-like me? " I asked not sure whether I heard him right.

" I mean it's not that... You don't have to.... I know you don't...... it's just that...... yes I really like you......but I know you don't like guys......... I don't expect you to like me back...... it's just that....... I CAN'T HOLD IT IN ANYMORE!!!!" Kakashi shouted the last part like he mean it. Like he was actually in so much pain trying to hold it in.

" I'm an idiot! Who would like to be with an emo brat like me? What the heck was I thinking? Im sorry Iruka! Just forget that we ever had this conversation. Can we please be friends again? I don't wanna damage our friendship because of my stupid feelings!" He went on again. I can't believe what he was saying. He actually really like me? I thought I was the fool who was hopelessly in love with him!

" Kakashi! I er... I like you too you know! I thought you'd never feel the same way. It seems like both of us felt the same way after all. " I said shyly trying to hide my face by turning the other way cuz I know that by now, im red as a tomato.

"WHAT!!!????" Kakashi said, more like yelled!

" I said I like you too!" I said again smiling. This time facing more towards him.

"Oh kami! I can't believe this! I love you Iruka! I love you! " He trapped me in a bear hug.

" So are we like a...thing now?" I asked shyly, looking up at his visible eye.

"If you want us to" he said giving me a curvey-eyed smile.

" Yes please!" I said shyly burying my head in his chest. He kissed the top of head. We stayed like that for a few minutes until both of us realize that we were actually standing in the middle of the road!
