My dreams that evening were horrible...they certainly didn't start that way, nor were they particularly bad. It was how I felt when I had awakened.
I was standing on the Royal pier watching the sea birds teaching Cee how to fish. In my dream, I recalled the memory and thanks to Julia's proficiencies in the dream world, I was able to enjoy the experience. Soon Azreal materialized next to me.
"Prince Rowann, how is the day?"
I nodded my head. "It's alright. Just teaching my brother how to fish is all."
He nodded his head. "Ah," he replied and finished in a whisper, "how's it going?"
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "It's not. I have tried to explain to him that the fish don't come out this way. But he insisted."
I tussled Cee's bluish-black hair as he huffed a sigh.
Soon though, he felt the tiniest of tugs on the line. Then I saw the bobbin sink and reappear above the surface of the water. He pointed. "Rowann! Look!"
"Oh damn!" I knelt down and enclosed him in my arms; no way was I going to help him reel it in.
Peripherally, I could see Azreal turn to the side, and give a slight bow. I looked to see Julia with her red dress and silver hair, leaning against the railing, and we all saw waves gaining momentum and the skies darkening...there was a storm approaching quickly. Before I knew it, a large wave washed over all of us and I heard Cee laugh with joy.
I turned to find that Julia had disappeared and I panicked...she is not a strong swimmer. I commanded Azreal to stay with my brother and I jumped into the cold dark ocean in search of her. I saw something red and finally a delicately taloned hand reaching out to me, only for her to disappear from view entirely.
I woke up calling out her name, but it wasn't Julia's name I called out, it was Kianda's.
A name that hadn't crossed my lips for a very, very long time.
I opened my eyes in the darkness that was the bedroom of my quarters breathing deeply. Rising from my bed, I requested a cup of coffee, then showered and dressed for the day. I sat down at my desk and downloaded the officers' daily logs from the previous day. There was nothing of particular interest so the ship was running top notch...just, we were in a holding pattern. That bothered me: we were still awaiting the delivery of Cee's new body.
My mind wandered back to the previous evening. The meal was amazing, I knew that it would be. My hostess was...everything good.
Then my thoughts turned to our issues: we were both informed that we were each other's twin flame. That would explain a lot, why I was completely enamored of her and why she was so completely familiar; the joining of souls not with standing. Why would Deity do that to us?
I requested her location from the computer and was informed that she was in Drogo's personal quarters...I was half jealous that she was there alone with him. I wanted both of their attention too.
I wanted to talk to him as well. I asked the computer to get Drogo on the horn so that I could hopefully get an appointment to talk to him.
"Drogo here—"
The sound that washed over my audial organs was a horrific squeaky noise! Like the screech of some poor creature in pain.
What exited my mouth was a series of Abraxan profanities. I only stopped when I heard her voice.
"I dunno what you're saying Rowan but are you alright!"
"What the hell was that!"
"That was Drogo. The real Drogo."
