We were led to a massive room that was equipped with holographic projectors. Chesna asked for a specific program and we found ourselves on a volcanic battlefield, complete with darkened skies and thick air.
"Alright Sam, you're on!"
"Let's see if I can get this—"
Before our eyes, she transformed from the cuddly albeit very large battle kitty-wolf thing to a very large, very female-looking Baphomet creature, only without the scary goat-head.
"Nice rack," Kia said, almost laughing.
"Who's got a mirror," Allie asked, looking down at her very ample breasts.
"Computer, mirror—large enough for the subject to view herself"
A mirror suddenly appeared and she gazed at her reflection. "Is this for real?"
"We can edit the code if you don't like it."
"I certainly don't want to look like a female devil."
Chesna almost laughed. "Hadn't thought of that. I modeled your look after the women of Talia-Six—they're thought to be quite attractive—"
"Well, it's not. And ditch the cloven hooves too," Allie insisted.
"What about a dark elf," Cee suggested.
"Yeah—that would suit her personality way more. Especially if she had to accompany Rowan," Kia said. "What do you think about that, Sammy?"
Frowning, Chesna nodded and asked the computer to reflect an image into the mirror where Allie herself could actually do the programming based on her preferences.
"I'm afraid that I don't know what a dark elf is supposed to look like," Chesna admitted. "Those games were your thing, not mine."
Kia shyly moved to stand beside her best friend and took her hand and I watched as Allie turned toward her.
"Hey, what's wrong, Jay?"
Kia was unusually quiet.
"Hey—I know I look horrendous on the outside, but it's still me inside, you know—"
"I know," she replied quietly."it's just—"
"Ohhhh honey—come here—it's okay—we are all going to be okay, I promise."
The two women locked together in a strong embrace and I could tell that Kia was shedding tears. But I also knew that Allie instinctively knew how to calm my Princess with a touch and a word...even when Allie was a little girl. I wondered if they had lived previous lives as mother and child...that was what this display reminded me of...my own mother was never like this with my brother or myself, but somewhere in my many past lives, I had felt this kind of displayed affection.
"Doc, would it be alright if Jay stays with me? She can help me figure out a good look—I'd just think of functionality—"
"You know," I began as I walked toward them in order to make a tight huddle of three. "She's gonna make you look hotter than sin on toast—"
"Why would you do that?"
"See that guy over there? The young one? The one who can't seem to stop staring at you?"
"Yeah? So?"
"Know who he is?"
She swallowed hard and barely nodded. "So? He's very married, Ro."
"Only because his soulmate wasn't available," I reminded her, albeit under my breath. "You should have been his wife and we all know it. He knows it too and it's made him very bitter, Princess—"
"Shut up, will ya?"
I couldn't help but snigger looking up toward my brother talking to Azreal in very hushed tones...then I saw Azreal grin and say, "plotting".
"I would say that the game is a foot," I whispered.
"Or a hand, an eye, or—or—"
"Don't say it, Jay."
"Boobies!"
Allie groaned.
I left the two women and headed for my brother and my own personal Deity-councilor when Cee turned to me with a raised brow. "What are you three up to?"
"Not me, just them."
"I heard, boobies, Rowan. You know that she can't look too good—"
"Why not? Afraid you'll be tempted?"
"I don't need that kind of stress in my life right now."
"Then think of it as a pleasant diversion," I told him.
Cee huffed as he rolled his eyes and turned toward the door. I glanced toward Azreal as he leaned in. "What are they going to do, your Grace?"
"I dunno? You tell me—"
Azreal bowed his head slightly as he smiled. "Touché your Grace. Touché."
We learned that Allie didn't require much sustenance, but Kia did and we sent over tuna fish sandwiches which we learned that Allie ate most of.
I returned to the ship and busied myself with Cee, being caught up to speed by Azreal...we were going to end up expanding the resistance and bringing many smaller planets into the fold...there was to be a massive war spanning several star systems. We were going to be spread thin.
Kia was right about one thing though...Allie was going to end up accompanying me while I made the rounds with Cee and Azreal and she couldn't look even remotely scary...in fact, she had to look very pleasing to the eye.
Finally, our presence was requested back on the space station. We were met by Kia and Chesna then were accompanied to the same massive room where Allie was supposed to be waiting for us to do the big reveal. We walked in to find the room emptied. I looked around and saw nothing but empty walls.
"Psst—"
We looked up just as she belayed down a thin filament and landed just out of arm's reach.
"I can't even believe that you guys didn't look up—you always look up!"
"Well, we weren't expecting an ambush," I told her.
She placed a delicate but deadly pointed finger on Cee's breastplate. "You should've known better.
Cee harrumphed, but the again, he had a stupid grin on his face.
I stared at the white tattooed markings on her dark gray skin; it was a delicate lacy version of a tribal tattoo that I remembered seeing on Terra. I asked if it was permanent.
"Not yet, but it will be. I know that you might think that I'll stand out, but I assure you Rowan, I can disappear in a split second if I need to."
"So, it's not too much? We kind of went with the dark elf thing—like Cee suggested." Kia stood beside her best friend, wringing her hands.
"I'd bang 'er," Cee said under his breath.
I turned my head. "Wot?"
Cee turned to look at me. "Huh?"
Allie turned on her heel, whining. "Oh my god!"
"Ohhhh it's too much—what should we take away? Az?"
"Princess Kianda, Princess Allie is perfect the way she is and I recommend not changing a thing! Her uniform has photogenic properties, I see?"
"Yes, makes it easier for her to hide. Especially while she's getting used to everything. It can go either way, dark or light."
"I think she looks brilliant," I said. "You did good," I told Kianda as I kissed the very top of her cranials.
"Yeah?"
"Absolutely."
And I must tell you that it felt amazing when she leaned all of her weight into me...I didn't even mind the little bit of discomfort where the hole in my abdomen was.
