Friday
"Jodie you can't do that in a class room" Mr B starts
Jodie brought out her vape during class, she didn't take any draw of it because of the pregnancy. She just took it out and stared at it.
Now she's in her support teachers office with her head on the desk"For the last time i didn't take a draw" she groans staying completely still
"You still can't bring it out during class, not to mention you're underage"
"God just send me home then, please just send me home" she lifts her head up and starts to cry
The teacher stares at her for a second and watches as she paces around the room crying
"Jodie take a deep breath and take a seat" he says calmly with worry spread across his face
Jodie takes back the seat across from him and continues to sob "Jodie, is there something going on"
"if i tell you can you please promise me you won't judge me"
"i won't judge you Jodie"
"I'm pregnant" she sobs "and i'm getting rid of it, i still haven't told my dad and i hate hiding shit from him and i haven't been able to tell anyone but Jay and it's so so stressful"
"You're pregnant?" he asks shocked
"You said you wouldn't judge me" she cries reaching for the handle of the door
"Don't leave this room Miss Dunham"
She sits back down with her head in her hands "I don't know how i'm going to tell my dad"
"Look, i don't want to be the one to tell him and with school policy i really should but right now i'm going to call your dad and say you aren't feeling great. I'll get him to pick you up and when you go home you have to tell him. If you haven't told him by Monday then i will need to tell him myself and i don't want to do that. Is that a deal?"
She nods in agreement and watches as he picks up the phone, pushing the numbers in to dial her dads number
"Hi Mr Dunham it's Mr B here from Jodie's school, would you be able to pick Jodie up she said she's not feeling great and she doesn't look the greatest either. We don't want to send her back to class and we think it's just best if she heads home"
"Alright thank you"
"Your dad is on his way to pick you up" he says putting the phone down "How far along are you?"
"6 weeks"
"And when you say you've only told Jay does that mean that he is the dad?"
"Yeah, he's been really great with it all. He's supported my decision. I just don't think i'm ready for a kid right now"
"You're 16, if you're not ready then you're not ready. i'm not going to judge you it's what is best for you and i'll support you anyway i can"
"Thank you sir"
"Please tell your dad as soon as you feel ready, it's going to be harder the it's going to be"
Fifteen minutes left Pete arrives at the school with pure panic across his face, still in his work clothes.
"Let's get you home princess" Pete says kissing her forehead
-
"Lay on the couch i'll get you a blanket"
"Dad"
"I'll get you some pain killers"
"Dad"
"I'll check your temperature"
"Dad!" Jodie shouts eventually grabbing his attention
"What's up?" he asks
"I have an appointment with the doctors next week"
"What? For what?"
"I'm getting an abortion" she says her voice breaking
"You're what?" Beth asks from the kitchen
"I'm sorry"
"Who's the dad" Pete asks with his jaw clenched
"Dad"
"i said who's the dad" he shouts
Pete had never shouted at Remi, his voice has been raised but never once has he shouted at her.
"Jay" Jodie says backing up a little
"Get out of my sight Jodie i can't look at you right now" he says watching into the kitchen
"Pete" Beth starts
"No. Jodie i do not want to look at you right now. Just get out of my sight"
Jodie walks upstairs with tears streaming down her face and does the only thing she can think of.
She empties her school bag. Grabs a couple hoodies and pairs of leggings and throws them in. She leaves her phone on her bed and leaves the house quietly.
Soon she arrives at the train station and is in shock what she's about to do herself
"Hi couple i please get a ticket to..."
