Reviled

M'gann, the Martian Manhunter's base was high tech, but also old. Probably once upon a time this had belonged to the Flash, and the main anteroom had big old-fashioned looking art deco structures with keyboards and screens built in, lots of tactile buttons and levers. The screens were probably old fashioned television screens, at least some of them - but the big screen on the wall was a genuinely 120inch LED screen, displaying multiple news feeds, camera outputs and police and emergency services information. Looking around I found the camera that was showing us and gave it a cheerful wave.

"Looks like every room will have a camera!" I commented, I took the paint from Penny and sprayed it, blacking out the display.

"Okay, okay... Let me see here!" Claire was immediately at the old computer, "They have to have, oh wow. She's only using password protection, come and look!"

Taking a thumb drive and slotting it into the computer terminal, E-Claires suite of tools automatically opened in the background, brute forcing the password protection with the ease of E-Claires vast knowledge of supervillain/superhero history. We didn't get to see the password, but we were in.

On one part of the computer was a security system, showing all the parts of the base, punching buttons actually let us bring up cameras in the rooms.

"There it is!" I pointed eagerly, the camera had switched to a long hall, in the hall were alcoves, each having a clear glass or perspex door in front of it. Some had magic runes on the glass, others high tech gizmo's surrounded the object. "Looks less of a trophy room and more like an evidence lockup!" I observed.

"Wait, there's movement!" Claire tapped a few keyboard strokes and the camera in the room switched to a different angle.

Down the end of the hall, a large creature was rising from an old stone chair. It appeared to be a man, red and gold but easily 10 feet tall, shiny chrome and metal on every part of the body. Including the all too human face.

Claire zoomed in, "Amazo." she read.

"Oh." I commented. This was going to be hard. "Well, we're going to have to lure it out here."

"What is it?" Garfield asked, that's fair. No way he would know about this.

"It's a robotic guardian that mimics powers. Depending who it has access to, we're at the very least going to see giant animals fighting each other today. It may also be preloaded with some league members!" I explained.

We all took a collective gulp of fear, "How big is that room?" I asked,

"Big enough for a decent fight." Penny thought out loud, "Maybe ride in for muscle, an elephant or a Rhino. Hit it hard?" We looked around at our main machines.

"Can you tell which exhibit has our biomass?" E-Claire shrugged, "I can get into the room and see-" She fiddled with the camera some more, "Wait, is that a full conqueror orb?" We hesitated, we could only see part of it, the wall was in the way but certainly there was a large smooth ball of quartz like material just floating in a chamber by itself.

Penny clutched her head, muttering "My superpower really thinks it can work with conqueror tech. Like, really really, but we're already biting off too much already! We need to get in, hit that thing hard, grab the prize and Run!"

Fumbling in her belt-pouch Penny pulled out the remote for the stink bombs, throwing it to Claire.

"Soon as Garf hits that robot, press it! Machines! On me!"

And it all went down at once.

Camera footage recorded from the scene went as follows.

At 11.24pm the day before the Inscrutable Machine's patsies hit their targets, M'Gann accessed the Amazo guardian in her lair. It was halfway down the hall when the bulk door to the storage locker started icing over, footage showing Reviled blasting the thing with a pair of freeze rays.
