The Ugly Meet-Cute: Prologue

Driving through space would be relaxing as you cruise past millions of stars that look like meteors, but it is nothing new to the Light Bearer and the Kid in a Hat. Hat Kid looked out the window as she remembered the view that took her to the planet that was different from many others she had seen; she turned to look at the pilot who watched the stars go by as she followed the pathway to this planet that Hat Kid chatted about.

"Are we there yet, Hana?" The silver-haired lady asked as she had noticed the brown-haired girl hopping on her toes. Hana was a name for Hat Kid given by the lady.

Hat Kid smiled happily, "We're almost there! Look, there's Orion the Hunter pointing at it for us!" she pointed at the constellation. The silver lady chuckled and followed the arrow's point that leads to the odd planet.

"Huh...It does look strange! In a pretty way!" Light Bearer remarked as she kept driving the ship. "It is very colorful, especially that purple island!"

That comment made Hat Kid giggle. "It does look like an island up here, but it's a big spooky forest!"

"Ooh!~ Spooky!~" The lady teased and Hat Kid went to hug her simply.

"You're gonna like it there, Mom! And I have a feeling you'll make new friends too!" Hat Kid was hopeful and Light Bearer smiled sweetly.

"Even though I'm supposed to be stuck in my ship?"

"And let you work on that boring research by just watching the planet rotate? Not on my watch! You're going to enjoy the adventures as much as I do!" Hat Kid said with a big grin.

Light Bearer rolled her eyes and smiled back, "I'll think about it. You did mention that your friends might need your help first before they can meet me, right?"

"Pssh! It's not going to take long! It'll be just the first 2 days!" Hana reassured her mom, who chuckled softly.

"I believe you. Don't have too much fun, now that we're here."

Hat Kid and Light-Bearer watched the planet, getting excited as the ship got closer to the planet.

In the Subcon Forest, the ghastly ruler was reading his book about murdering children in his humble tree abode. It was very quiet in the forest until he heard his minions chatter about a shooting star. He slithered silently to the top of his house and with a poof of purple smoke, held a purple-gold spyglass. He aimed it at the sky and looked through the eyepiece.

There he spotted the blue shooting star that was getting closer, and he just knew who that was. And would you look at that? He had been needing his towel boy for a little event he had planned for quite some time. What a coincidence! He'd let the kiddo know as soon as she arrives, but not this instant. He's not the only person on this planet who befriended her, and as her BFF by law, he'd let her see them, and then when Hat Kid arrives at his forest, he will take her on a little trip to visit a VERY special person.

The time had finally arrived.
