No one's POV
Roxy and Chica exchanged glances before focusing on the newcomer; Roxy was the first to notice the Gator's timidity and shyness.
This, from Roxy's perspective, completely destroyed his frightening appearance. Chica, on the other hand, was looking forward to seeing Monty but was wary of his frightening demeanor.
Freddy was now standing in his room's doorway, spewing venom at Monty. Oh, if only looks could kill.
The gator caught a glimpse of Freddy out of the corner of his eye, but he refused to stare back at him since he understood Freddy's expression.
Freddy returned to his room and locked the door behind him, leaving an awkward hush in the air. Monty was finally able to exhale from all of the tension Freddy was giving him.
"Thank you."
The gator said under his breath, completely unaware that Roxy had heard him.
"Okay, well then, this is Montgomery Gator, or Monty for short, and Monty, this is Roxanne, Roxy for short, and that's Chica! That rude big teddy bear was Freddy, but you already know this." Vanessa said this as she introduced the animatronics to each other.
"Of course, the children have been talking about these guys, and the announcer announces their names at every event they do their show."
Monty was irritated by this, but he quickly adjusted his face to one of friendliness.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Fazbear entertainment would like you to put your hands together for the one and only Freddy Fazbear!" Monty shouted, making the three smile.
Chica was overjoyed to see Monty's nice side and jumped at the chance to hug him, which startled him.
"Wait a minute,"
Monty murmured and attempted to pull her away, but he quickly realized he was having trouble and became worried.
"What exactly are you doing?! Release! me!"
Monty questioned her in a panicky tone, attempting but failing to rip her off.
"Monty, it's called a hug! An embrace, at least according to the children, is a gesture of trust and affection." Chica exclaimed gleefully.
Monty had never felt so helpless in his life, and he was embarrassed by it.
"Oh, and Monty, I forgot to mention that your system is still being updated since we installed all of those songs you can now sing all at once, so it'll be a while before you feel like your strong self again."
Vanessa rubbed the back of her neck, mentally yelling at herself for forgetting to notify Monty.
Monty gave her a stern look but nodded in understanding. Monty was putting up a performance with Chica, while Roxy was quietly enjoying it. This gator didn't impress her, but she was relieved that Chica was no longer annoying her, so she gave him that.
"Monty, I appreciate it. You have no idea how much it means to me that you have decided to join us. I truly appreciate it." Monty didn't detect any irony in Roxy's words and considered it a good gesture.
"Thank you so much. I'm hoping we can all become wonderful friends. I realize I'll never be able to replace your friend, but I'll do my best to reach for the stars. Even if I fail, I'll be among the stars."
Roxy smirked before rolling her eyes as Monty explained.
"That was the cheesiest thing I've ever heard," Roxy laughed. Chica and Monty joined in on the wolf's laughter.
Vanessa shortly after waved goodbye as the three continued to joke and laugh together.
Freddy was watching them through his curtains with a cold scowl on his face, but none of them noticed him watching.
Since he returned to his room, he had been keeping an eye on them.
Freddy drew back from his curtains to examine the Bonnie plushie on the table. "How could they laugh with him like that?! You disappear for weeks and he just shows up like he's the new star of the show. Damn it!"
Freddy paced back and forth in his room, talking loudly to himself. "Bonnie, where have you gone? Vanessa stated you didn't want to perform any longer, so why didn't you tell me before you told Vanessa? It's not like you to just disappear to who knows where without me, but you have no idea how I felt when you never showed up!" Freddy yelled at the Bonnie plushie, half expecting it to respond, then sighed and sat down on the couch, staring at it. He turned the plushie around towards the door after looking into its eyes and feeling ashamed of himself.
Freddy opened his eyes and turned toward the sound of his door opening a few hours later. It was Roxy. "What's the matter, Roxanne? You never come into my room unless it's an emergency."
Freddy spoke softly before standing and stretching. Roxy was ready to retort when she noticed the Bonnie plushie on the table.
"You can call me Roxy just like everyone else, Freddy. It's not a critical challenge." She continued to look at the plushie quietly until Freddy grabbed it and tucked it under a pillow.
"I understand your want to cling to the past, but you must let go. The more you cling to something, the more you drive people away."
Roxy mentioned this as she rested her hand on Freddy's shoulder. He was staring at the ground, puzzled as to why they had moved on so quickly. Bonnie wasn't that important to them, was he?
"Did you even notice when he vanished?" Freddy asked, his shoulder jerking away from Roxy's grip. "What does it have to do with what you're tal-" "Have you been walking around the Mega Pizzaplex every day looking for him up to this point? Have you ever had doubts about your relationship? Did you ever wonder what went wrong? Did you ever cry alone in the middle of the night because you felt he didn't care about you anymore? Did he-" Roxy, who hugged Freddy firmly, cut him off.
"Of course I was concerned! Who do you believe stepped in to aid you when you were upset, or stole a Bonnie plushie for you while they were tearing up his possessions in his greenroom? I care, Freddy, but it's been at least a month. He disappeared nine weeks ago." Roxy explained, pulling away from her distraught friend.
"Then he showed up two weeks later." Freddy hissed before looking at Roxy. He then questioned why she was there, shifting the conversation. "Oh, yes! Chica wanted to know if you were all right and if you were going to meet Monty in person since you had returned to your room."
Freddy narrowed his eyes before sighing. "Fine, but I'm not doing it for him." Freddy said before walking towards the door with Roxy. "You know, he's sweet, and he's not a threat to you."
"I understand." Freddy said as the door opened and he walked out, followed by Roxy. "Then what is the problem?" She questioned making Freddy stop in place.
"Consider this: he had to be the reason Bonnie vanished. He appears out of nowhere to take our Bonnie's place. That couldn't be a coincidence, could it?" Freddy said, cleaning his throat a bit before continuing on with Roxy to meet up with Chica and Monty.
