My parents arrived last night and tonight is the night my life will change. Either Lacey will accept me or she won't.

It's a big gamble because I feel so much for her. In the last week I've upped my game. We spend afternoons and dinners together at either house and say our goodbyes. When she has viewings and I don't have training I keep the kids until she's done. The only difference is we sneak kisses now and snuggle and watch movies when the kids are asleep.

We never sleep over because I'm not ready to take that step. It's been five years since I've been with a woman and something tells me Lacey isn't ready either.

I'd wait until our wedding night if I need to. Because if she agrees to be mine tonight our relationship will move quickly.

It's 6pm and Lacey shows up wearing brown skinny jeans with white crop top and some white sneakers. She looks absolutely beautiful. Blaire runs off with my parents to get Luke.

Wow.

Wow is right. Come here beautiful.

I like this leather jacket.

You ready? Mom and dad have the kids in the media room so we can leave easier.

You really are sexy Rhyker. I can't wait to find out what you need to tell me. I'm nervous, but it's a good nervous.

I just hope tonight goes as planned. Let's go.

We jump in the truck and we end up at the park so we can take a stroll and find a nice secluded area to talk. If all goes well we will go on to the dinner I have planned.

We arrive at a bench tucked under the trees where the fall colors make it even more romantic. Looking around I can't see anyone. It's now or never I guess.

Rhyker you are scaring me a little. Are you okay?

Lacey I'm well this is very hard for me to say to you.

Oh god. You don't want to date me do you. God I'm so stupid to think someone would actually like me. Someone as good looking as you.

I bend down and kiss her to shut her up. God women can be so stupid sometimes.

Well that was nice.

Look I'm not one to spill my guts out, but I have no other choice. I can't keep this secret any longer from you. It wait until I'm done and then you can say whatever you want okay.

Okay. I'll listen.

I kiss her one last time because it could be the last time and I want to savor it forever.

Rhyker I'm here. It's okay. Whatever you have to say. I'll try and understand.

Well you've met my parents I also have three sisters. One is my twin. And two younger ones. We grew up surrounded by love from our parents and their best friends Sam and Blake. They are my only other family with their three kids. My youngest sister Raydin is dating their oldest son Noah. Anyways. Growing up I played basketball and I was so good. In high school I was your typical playboy and ended up with a son my senior year. Carrie is his birth mother, but she signed her rights away at birth so it's always just been us and my family. Once I found out I was going to be a father I quit partying, sleeping around and worked my ass off to get into university and care for Luke. I haven't been intimate with a woman since I was 17 until you. I mean kissing is intimate to me so yeah.

Okay. Anything else.

Yes. My junior year at UNC I was beginning to be scouted. I turned down the scouts until I graduated. By my senior year I was looking at either Chicago or Charlotte and I chose here. Not only to be close to my family still, but because something was pulling me here. I signed a five year contract with the Hornets. I am guard 2 for the Hornets starting lineup in the NBA. On the court my name is Bullet Pierre, but to you I'm only Rhyker. The teen dad who is trying to make it through life.

Wow.

I know I'll be gone during away games while in season, but I promise if you give me a chance I'll love you and Blaire for the rest of my life. I'll take care of the both of you. I'm not beating my chest like a caveman because I'll never tell you to quit your job or dictate your life. I just want to share my life with my family. Lacey I love you and Blaire so much and I'll ask this one question.

Will you be my girlfriend, my partner in life, one day my wife and the mother to all our children?

Its only fair you hear my story before you ask me that question again if you still want.
