The boys are in Bobby's library and Dean finished telling Sam about how he tried to convince Castiel to stop. Sam says, "Well, you know what? At least you tried." Dean says, "Yeah, a fat lot of good it did. Why did he even come, right? Well, Samuel's journals are pointless. I mean, I'm sorry, but Jebediah Campbell has squat to tell me... about how to stop Cass from cracking purgatory." Bobby comes in and says, "Well, actually, it's not about the journals we have. It's about the one we don't." Sam says, "Meaning what?" Bobby says, "Well, that's the bad news. Our pal, Cass, didn't stop in last night just to mend fences." Dean says, "What did he do?" Bobby says, "Stole something." Dean says, "What?" Bobby says, "The journal of one Moishe Campbell." Sam says, "Moishe?" Bobby says, "Of the New York Campbells." Sam says, "Wha--? So, we have to get it back, right?" Bobby holds up a envelope and says, "Or just read the copy I already had made. Hi, glad to eet you. Bobby Singer, paranoid bastard." A while later, Bobby says, "I think I zeroed in on something." Dean says, "What do you got?" Dean grabs the paper and reads it off and says, "'Went to talk to Howard Phillips about the events of March 10th.'" Bobby says, "That's March 10th, 1937." Dean says, "All right, so who's this Phillips guy?" Bobby says, "Phillips ain't his last name. It's Lovecraft." Sam says, "Wait, H.P. Lovecraft?" Bobby nods and Sam excitedly says, "Let me see that." Dean hands Sam the paper and says, "Am I supposed to know who that it is?" Bobby looks at Dean gives Dean a weird look and says, "Horror writer. At the Mountain of Madness, The Call of Cthulhu." Dean shakes his head and says, "Yeah. No, I was too busy having sex with women." Bobby rolls his eyes and says, "Well, anyhow, there's one notion that comes up and over again in his stories. Namely, opening doors to other dimensions... and letting scary crap through." Dean says, "You don't say." Sam says, "Wait. So you're saying you think Lovecraft knows something about purgatory?" Bobby shrugs his shoulders and says, "All I know is Moishe paid him a visit." Dean nods.
