EPILOGUE
Over the next few days, this sickness bug still hadn't shifted and Mars is insistent that I'd get a pregnancy test.
"Mars, it's a waste of money and I know what the result will say. Trust me, when I tell you I can't have kids."
"Oh my god, woman, will you just go with me on this? At least this way you'll end my curiosity."I roll my eyes when she grins while she's handing holding out a test. Christ's sake, this woman won't take no for an answer. I love her to bits but once she gets an idea in her head, that's it she won't back down.
About an hour later...
"Tiger, what's happened? Come on, talk to me baby," Harvey pleads. I didn't even hear them enter the bathroom. While I'm sitting on the floor, both Harvey and Isaac are kneeling in front of me. I think I'm in a state of shock? Damn it, this shit's not happening. It can't be real. Eventually, I slowly lift my hand to show them. Isaac is the first to take hold of, the pregnancy stick. He's looking at the screen, one that's flashing the result. Moments later, his eyes go wide snapping up to look at me and then to Harvey.
"What? What is it, Isaac?" Harvey asks.
"Hales... she's pregnant. She's having our kid. Holy shit!"
When he said this, he looks at me and then back to Harvey again. I see Harvey's eyes are wide.
"Tiger, is this for real? You're really pregnant?"
I give a quick nod without speaking because I'm in shock.
"How the hell? Baby, this is awesome shit!" Isaac says while he cups my face. I'm feeling a little out of it if I'm honest. I was told when I was younger that, I'd never be, able to conceive. I feel the tears prick my eyes feeling so overwhelmed with this."I-Isaac... I-I'm pregnant. Oh god! Is this real? Please, tell me this is real, and I'm not dreaming?"
He shook his head and chuckled with tears in his eyes. He places a kiss on my lips, pulling me into a crushing hug. He's holding me tightly and I need this. I need this so badly because I just don't know if this is real.Eight months passed by since after that day. Oh yes, it's real. It's so freaking real when I'd finally gone into labour. I'd spent eleven hours in the hospital, giving birth to my beautiful babies. Angelus and Lucius Lawrence. Our babies, our twin boys. Now some years later, well, I'm pregnant again. Yet this time it's just the one baby. I'm sad that it's not another set of twins, but I'm happy enough because I really can't wait for our bundle of joy to arrive.
"Hey, Dad, how are you feeling?" He looked up as I walk in... well, it's more like I waddled into the living room. I see he's lying on the sofa looking bad.
"Baby-girl, I feel like I'm dying. Ooo, is that soup I see in your hands?" He quickly sits up and holds out his hands so that he can take the flask of soup from me.
"Where are the kids?" He asks looking at the doorway waiting for them to pop their heads in.
"They're with Harvey. Isaac's at work, so I thought I'd visit my Daddy."
He smiled when I say that last part. Then he stood to move toward the kitchen.
"Well, I'm glad you're here because there's something that I need to tell you.""Oh okay, what's that then? Please don't tell me you've bought another dog? Dad having three dogs is enough."
He cuts in, shaking his head while chuckling.
"No, sweetheart, I've not got another dog. I've got enough with Winnie being pregnant she's due with puppies any day now, but no more dogs.""Yeah, I know how that feels Win."
I'm looking at Winnie whilst I say this, making me grin when she tilts her head.
"So come on then, what is it?" I ask when I sit down at the kitchen table.
"I've asked Neena to marry me and she's accepted."
As soon as he said it, my eyes go wide and with a smile, I rush over to him to wrap him in an enormous bear hug.
"Oh, my god! Dad, that's the best news ever. Oh, my day's congratulations. I'm so happy for you. I truly am."
