3rd Person POV:

Having ventured onward through the Emerald Forest for what seemed like hours, Jaune and Pyrrha both come across the entrance of a dark cave.

Jaune: This has to be where all the relics are.

Pyrrha: I'm not so sure. It all just feels...off.

Jaune: (grabs a torch stick) Well, you know the old saying..."Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

He proceeds to set the tip of the stick ablaze, making it into a small torch before heading inside the cave with a reluctant Pyrrha following after him.

The perspective soon changes to that of a screen as atop Beacon cliff, both Professor Ozpin and Glynda are seen monitoring all the ongoing events on their tablets.

Glynda: The last pair has been formed, sir. (taps her screen to show Nora and Ren trekking through the forest together) Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren. Poor boy... I can't possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos.

Ozpin: (focused on a different event) Mmm...

Glynda: I don't understand. If we take into account what his transcripts describe, that Jaune fellow should've been more than prepared for this level of combat. (deactivates her tablet, walking back a little) I guess we'll find out soon enough. At each of the applicants current pace, the Xiao Long and Belladonna pairing should reach the temple in a few minutes.

Glynda: (turning back to Ozpin) Speaking of which, what did you use as the relics for this year? (receiving silence) Professor Ozpin?

The Headmaster doesn't respond once more as he's currently overlooking the view of Yang and Blake stepping out into the clearing that reveals the circular stone temple, broken and decrepit but for the platforms around its inside, holding several black and gold objects.

Yang: Think this is it?

In response, Blake simply rolls her eyes in annoyance before heading down the hill, her blonde partner following after her.

Yang: Come on Blake, you're still mad about the Ursa Majors.

Blake: We could've just sneaked past them, but you just went up and punched them.

Yang: I'm sorry, stealth isn't really my strong suit as best approach is face everything head on.

They continue to bicker until making it over the temple floor and observe the items on each pedestal, now shown to be familiar shapes.

Blake: (looking at a black king chess piece, confused) Chess pieces?

Yang: Some of them are missing. Looks like we weren't the first ones here.

Blake: Well, I guess we should pick one.

Yang: Hmmmm... (studies the golden knight, then picks it up and shows it to Blake) How about a cute little pony?

Blake: (smirking) Sure. (they walk towards each other to the center of the temple floor)

Yang: That wasn't too hard!

Blake: Well, it's not like this place is very difficult to find. (they share a smile)

Back with Jaune and Pyrrha, the pair are now venturing inside the cave, illuminated by torchlight as multiple cave drawings are seen to the side depicting a pack of armed men going against a giant bird-like creature.
