Hawkins, Indiana

El, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Will were crowded in Will's room. A week had passed since Mike went missing, and none of them were any closer to finding him.

El may have gotten a few of her powers back, but they weren't nearly as strong as they used to be. Anytime she sees anything, she'll get lightheaded and sometimes even faint. She's tried searching for him five times that very day. Each time a fail from the last.

Nancy asked her parents what had happened to cause this, but all they told her was that they all had an argument. The following day, he was gone. They just thought he left a little extra early for school. So, they went about their day, but they started to get worried when he didn't show up for dinner. They waited and waited for him to return. The night rolled around, and Karen said she had waited all night. And yet, he never came home.

That was when her and Ted decided to take action and called the police. Hopper was relentless. He had nearly every cop searching the woods, abandoned places, and even the outskirts of town.

It reminded Lucas, Dustin, and El a lot, like when Will went missing.

Eventually, Hopper searched the Wheeler's home. He found nothing out of the ordinary. However, Ted did have some words about Mike's, El's, and Will's relationship. He held his tongue, though, and proceeded to search the house. Hopper came back to them after finding some clothes, a bag, and some personal items missing. He could only come to one conclusion: Mike ran away.

El and Will were devastated by what had happened between Mike and his parents over their relationship. After discovering why he might have run away, Nancy had a few colorful words to say to her parents. Hopper had to hold Joyce back after hearing what Ted had to say about her kids. And Lucas hovered over Max, wondering if she ever had the same thought when her brother or father got out of hand.

"All I'm saying is, what if he left a clue? We should search his house while his parents are away." Dustin argued.

"That's stupid!" Lucas shrieked, "we can just let El try again, right El?"

El goes to nod, but both Will and Max beat her to it. "No."

El looks over with a glare, "what?"

"Look," Max started, "you've been at this for hours. You're weak. At least rest up for a bit."

El shook her head, "no. I need to find Mike."

"El," whispered Will, "I know you're worried about Mike. I am too. We all are. But you need to stop. Take a break, please." He reaches for her hand as his other holds her face, "we can't find him if you hurt yourself. We lost Mike. I can't lose you too. Please. All I ask of you is to take a break for the rest of the day."

El, with tears in her eyes, grabbed Will's hand. Pressing it against her face even more. "Ok," she whispered back.

Will smiled and pulled her close, "ok. Come on. Let's go visit Steve and Robin." They all made their way toward the living room. Hopper and Joyce were there whispering as Nancy paced back and forth.

"Mom," Will started but stopped, "what's going on?"

"Um... Nu-nothing, honey. Are you all heading somewhere?"

"We were just going to visit Steve-"

"Oh!" Exclaimed Johnathan, interrupting Dustin, "Steves here." Everyone glanced at each other, prompting him to elaborate. "We needed a babysitter."

A squeal came from the kitchen; Not even a second later, Holly ran out. Steve was behind her, chanting, "I'm gonna getcha!" He scoops her up, making monster noises as she giggles and squeals.
