THE BLOSSOMING CAMELLIA FLOWER (カメリア)

chapter 7

-MID 2011-

(cami) summer is here, no more school, no more exams, just three months of vacation and relaxation, my and the group decided to go to the beach (group: Alex, me, Erica, Nao,)

*on a group phone call*

*Nao* the beach?

*Erica* that does sound fun

*Alex* wait why did you call me? I'm literally in the other room

*cami* never mind tha-

*Alex* *barges into the room*

*cami* ok, as I was saying, we need more people to join us tomorrow, any suggestion

*Nao* I got none, all our teammates have their own plans

*cami* how about you?

*Alex* same here

*cami* what about you Erica?

*Erica* I may have someone to suggest

-THE NEXT DAY-

(Cami) she brought his boyfriend with her

*Erica* to be fair, at least I won't be alone watching you two act like a couple

*both Alex and cami* WE'RE NOT A COUPLE!!!!

*Nao* whatever you say you two, I didn't know you had no plans today?

*Akira* thankfully all our teammates we're all out of town so

(Cami) this is Akira, he's one of our teammates in softball, currently, she is dating Erica, I got a feeling that the both of them will last long

*cami* well since you're her boyfriend now, might as well do the ritual for you to be in our group

*Akira* what ritual?

*Alex* *grabs small bucket* we're going to pour water and ice with lemon juice on you

*Akira* what! Why?

*cami* no reason

(cami) and so after we did the ritual on Akira, we went to the beach and set up our umbrella, I wore my bathing suit underneath my shirt so I could swim later, Alex and Akira went to the bathroom to get changed, the three of us already got changed when we arrived.

*Erica* what's taking them so long?

*Nao* probably some boy stuff

*cami* like what?

*Erica* Nao...there not doing gay stuff

*Nao* *smirks* I don't know

*Alex* hey sorry we're late, we got some drinks at the store

*cami* oh your final bac-

(Cami) ...he's shirtless, and he looks HOT! I've never seen him this handsome before, did something happen in the bathroom, Akira looked good too

*Erica* um cami?

*cami* yeah?

*Erica* your nose

*Alex* what?

*cami* *whisper* oh my god you're so hot

*Alex* hey!

*cami* huh? I mean you looked good

*Alex* thank I guess?

(Cami) since my broken foot hasn't fully healed yet, I wasn't able to run and play with them, so I just sat on our little base and watch them while drinking the beverage we brought with us, to be honest, I felt kind of envious of them having fun... after summer, we'll be in our final years in high school and start senior high, after that it's off to college for the five of us, I haven't thought on what I'll do in college, the thought of it hasn't yet passed my mind until now, as for Alex, I'm not sure-

*camellia* you're not quite sure aren't you?

*cami* huh?

*camellia* since you changed the future, the future that was laid out for you now doesn't exist

*cami* so what am I going to do now?

*camellia* choose the path you think is right and let it play out for you

*Alex* cami?

*cami* huh?

*Alex* you spaced out, are you okay?

*cami* hey, can I ask you something?

*Alex* what is it?

*cami* what are you doing to do in college?

*Alex* well, the option I have is well...law school

*cami* so does that mean you're going to move out soon?

*Alex* well not yet but I'm going to think about it first, how about you?

*cami* I... I haven't decided yet

*Alex* you'll decide it eventually

*cami* yeah

(Cami) eventually I'll find what my future holds for me, but eventually, the five of us won't see each other anymore, and eventually...Alex would leave the apartment, but I don't want that to bother me right now, I need to enjoy this little time I have with this guys, even if it's our last time.

*Alex* guys have you seen Nao?

*cami*why?

*Alex* she hasn't come back from the bathroom yet

*cami* really? You guys should go check on her

*Erica* I'll go help, you guys stay here

*Akira* alright

*cami* okay

(Erica) we've been looking for Nao for almost an hour now and we still haven't got a clue where she is, I even tried calling her on the phone, but to no avail, so after searching for her for an hour, we just thought she went home already, so we return back to the others and the four of us went home.

-BACK AT HOME-

(cami) as I was laying on my bed wondering what the future will have for me, more importantly, that weird dream that I've been having since the accident like a while ago, every night I would constantly have these dreams about this place where everything around me is all sand but a giant glowing tree is the only thing that I could see, in front of it was this mysterious woman standing in front of it and talking to me, according to her, she is me from a different universe where she is the "watcher of the path" or something like that, and every time I was there, she would show me the stories that we're written on the tree...

"What is all of this?"

And When I woke up from that dream I would find myself in tears, every night I would learn something from that path or realm or whatever it is, it feels kind of strange actually.
