Melanie's POV:

"Melanie! Dinner time." Mom yelled from downstairs. Lately I'm never downstairs anymore because I'm just sitting there, doing nothing and see how mom and dad have fun with Skyler. And I get jealous it's weird to be jealous of a baby, but I really am. "I'm coming!" I yelled back. I don't really like eating, because I don't want to become fatter then I already am.

I picked up my phone and I put it in my pocket. I went slowly downstairs and walked to the kitchen. I took a seat and took my fork. Just playing around with my food. "I'm not hungry. Can I leave the table?" she nodded. I got up and walked out of the kitchen.

"Melanie! Get up, your late for school!" She yelled "When are you going to learn to wake up by yourself!?" She asked angry. "I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't hear my alarm." She left my room and slammed the door.

I don't know why she is being like this to me, I never did anything wrong I think. Before the baby was born she always woke me up and now she is angry because I never wake up by myself. Maybe she realized that I'm an useless child.

I took a fast shower and I made a ponytail in my hair. I looked in the mirror and was embarrassed that I looked so ugly. My mom is, I mean was so beautiful and I'm like a pig. It's a shame that I am her daughter.

I walked to my class with my face focused on the floor while I tried to ignore the insults and the laughs that were thrown at me. My first class was biology I couldn't concentrate at all, I stared the whole time out of the window. Thinking of I should tell Marissa that Demi is being angry again for no reasons.

Sometimes I'm scared she will hit me, I don't believe she is someone who would hit her child but the fear is always there anyways. I think it's because of my dad.
"Melanie! Stop daydreaming and pay attention to class please." She yelled. "I'm sorry, miss." Why can't I just concentrate for once?

I walked out of my class and stumbled over my feet. "She's so stupid that she even stumble over her own feet!" I heard someone yell and his group of friends laughed. I don't know why but it seems that all kids of these school hate me. It became so bad that I even hate myself.

Marissa's POV:

I was sitting in my couch, watching TV while cuddling with my boyfriend when I heard a nock on my door. "I'm going." I said smiling to Jeremy. I stood up and walked over to the door wondering who it could be since it's already 5PM.

I opened the door and saw Melanie, it look like she had been crying. "Hey Mel, what's wrong?" I ask worried. "Can I please stay here for the night?" she asked.
I nodded. "Come in." I said as I held the door open. She came inside and we went to the living room. Jeremy was concentrated on the TV, wich was maybe a good thing. "Jeremy baby, I'm taking Melanie upstairs I'll be back in 15 minutes." I said. "Hii, Melanie and okay baby."

"What's going on? Please be honest to me." I asked her while I took her hands in my hands. "I got into a fight with Demi, she slapped me, and asked me to leave. I deserved the slap but it just brings back so many memories." she said with tears.

I know Demi had changed opposite of Mel but I never thought she would hit her.

"Of course you didn't deserve the slap honey, no matter what happened. Demi isn't supposed to hurt you. I'll call Demi and let her know that you're here."

I stood up and gave her a kiss on her forehead and left the room. I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen.

I called Demi and waited until she answered. "Hey Rissa." "How dare you to fucking slap her!" I yelled angry. "I'm so sorry. I-I didn't meant to hit her. I was just so hurt about her words and I don't know, I couldn't control myself." She said apologizing.

"It's not about only this fight you got into with her. You changed opposite of her Melanie. Why aren't you being nice to her like you used to? I mean you used to be there for her 24/7, now she wake up screaming in the middle of the night and you don't care anymore!" I yelled back at her.

I'm so angry I don't know exactly what Melanie went through but I know a few things about her and she just don't deserve to have a mom that don't care, she needs the old Demi back, the one that would go through fire to rescue her.

"There are some things I found out recently, things you don't know. Things I kept a secret for everybody except for Nick."

"If you don't tell me, Melanie is staying with me."

"Okay, okay. I'll tell you, but please don't take Melanie away from me. I'll be at your house in 20 minutes." and she hung up.

"Please Demi tell me honestly why you're acting like this. You were the best mother Melanie could wish for, and suddenly you changed. She thinks it's because of her that you changed, but it's not is it?"

I put my hand on her hand to try to comfort her because I knew it was something serious. If it wasn't she wouldn't act like this.

"Look, I feel so guilty that I hit her, I know I'm not supposed to hit her and because of her past with her dad she must feel horrible. I promised her a lot of things and I broke all those promises."

"Look Demi you are such an amazing mom, you really are. Ask Nick and he would say the same, youre just going through a hard time. But I know you'll be fine, because you're such a strong woman and until now you'd always overcome your struggles, I'm sure you can do it again. I'm so proud of you."

"Rissa, I pushed her away because I feel guilty about all the things that happened to her in her past. Look, I.. Gave birth to her."
