Picture of River to the side ->
Chapter Three: Phones.
ᑕᕼᗩᖇᒪOTTE'ᔕ ᑭOᐯ
That evening, I sit in my room with Abbie, who is painting her nails.
"So, what's with you, River and Nathan?" Abbie asks curiously.
"Nothing," I reply, honestly.
"There must be something, what is it?" Abbie asks, frowning.
"There's seriously nothing. River lives next door, and that was the first time I spoke to Nathan," I shrug, and Abbie screams.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"River lives next door?" Abbie asks, and I groan.
"Since yesterday," I shrug, and Abbie screams.
"What, he's just some new guy at school, what's the deal?" I ask, frowning.
"He's basically gone to the school's most popular guy already, he's already sleeping around, and he's the hottest guy we've ever had at our school!" Abbie shouts, and I groan as I hear River open his window wider.
"Nice to know," River says, and Abbie gasps.
"I'm going," I say, before leaving my room. I walk downstairs and get a glass of water, before going back to my room. River is sat on his windowsill, chatting to Abbie. I roll my eyes, sitting down on my bed. Abbie continues talking, and I can tell River is starting to get bored. Abbie talks for ever and ever, and eventually her phone rings.
"Oh I've got to go. Bye," Abbie grins, before leaving. I hear River sigh in relief, before I get a phone call from Abbie.
"He's hot, isn't he?" Abbie asks, and I immediately hang up.
"So, you're more popular than I thought," River smirks, and I frown.
"I'm not popular, people just take an interest in me," I shrug, and River chuckles.
"You can't talk, you get your popularity from flirting, smoking, looking attractive and fucking," I say, and River laughs.
"So you think I'm attractive?" River smirks, and I blush.
"No," I reply, and River laughs.
"Well at least my popularity isn't from beating someone up," River smirks.
"Well it's not my fault I'm not really an attractive person, or remotely pretty. I don't want to smoke, and I don't want to sleep around, so whatever," I roll my eyes, and River raises an eyebrow.
"You know, you're prettier than you think. You just can't see," River smirks, and I frown.
"So don't look at me changing, you pervert," I smirk, before shutting my window. I change out of my clothes so I'm just in a bra and underwear with a pair of jogging bottoms on, and get into bed, slowly falling asleep.

It's in the middle of the night when I wake up. I don't think much of it at first, but then I see that my window is more open than it was when I feel asleep. I slowly turn around and come face to face with River.
"What on earth are you doing?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Uh, er, I was throwing paper aeroplanes and one accidentally came in your room, so I came to get it," River says nervously, stepping back towards the window. Then something lights up in his hand, and I recognise my phone. I scowl, sitting up in my bed.
"Don't you dare," I say, and River smirks.
"I'm River Ryder, Of course I dare," River smirks, before hopping out my window and back into his room. I scowl, preparing to stay awake until he falls asleep. Then I start to panic. He could read through my texts. Oh my God, that would be embarrassing.
Eventually, River falls asleep, and I put on one of Lucas's old football shirts, before climbing out my window. I carefully go into his room, and I'm honestly surprised that I haven't fallen over yet or anything, being the clumsy person I am. I look around his room, but I soon realise he's hidden it. I creep over to his bedside table, and quietly open the drawer. But all it's filled with is condoms and Lynx spray. Ew.
I slowly shut the drawer, when River grabs my waist and pulls me down next to him, my body hitting his chest. I groan quietly, as River rests his chin on my shoulder. I glance over, and realise he's still asleep, so it must be a reflex action. I curse, as he moves his hand down to my upper thigh, and keeps his other one tightly around my waist. He lightly moves his lips down to my neck, and just rests his head there. I frown, trying to think of how to get out of this.
I sigh quietly, as I realise that I can't actually move or he'll wake up. So maybe I just have to wake him up, or stay there until morning. Or I could just lie there, until he moves. Which one?
"River," I whisper, deciding to try and wake him up. He'll probably just laugh at me, he won't be cross or anything, I hope.
"Baby," River mumbles in his sleep, pulling me closer.
"River, it's Charlotte," I whisper, but by that point he's back asleep. I sigh, before I just lie there, hoping he'll move at some point during the rest of the night.
I do manage to stay awake until he moves. He doesn't move until five in the morning, but at least he isn't awake. I slowly and carefully move off the bed, and glance at him briefly. He actually looks cute when he's sleeping. Aw.
I quietly go to the window, and climb back to my room and lie on my bed. Well that failed. Miserably.
I end up having to just stay awake until morning, and have a cold shower at six, and it wakes me up. I change into a white dress, with a small brown belt. I put some sandals on as well, before tying my hair up in a ponytail and doing my makeup, before going downstairs. I leave the house early, and arrive at school just as early, all prepared for the day ahead.
