"So do you want to come over? River, Drew and Zach will be there too," Nathan says through the phone line.
"Nah, have your guy time," I chuckle, and Nathan laughs.
"What do you think we do?" Nathan asks, curiously.
"Sit down on a sofa and drink beer, while playing call of duty," I reply.
"Well you're correct," Nathan grins.
"I know," I laugh.
"Okay, baby, I'll see you soon," Nathan says, before hanging up. I sigh, wondering what to do. I eventually decide to go and visit Abbie, since I haven't seen her in a while.
"Mum, can I borrow your car?!" I call, hopping down the stairs.
"Okay," Mum says, before I grab her keys and leave the house. I get in the car and into the driving seat, before starting to drive down the road. I reach the corner before Abigail's house, and a deer runs across in front of me.
"Shit!" I shout, breaking quickly. The deer makes it across, but the car slides and smashes into a nearby street light. My body propels forwards and I hit my head, before blacking out.
And that, is how you crash into a streetlight.

I wake up in a small hospital room. The walls are a faded blue, and there is a heart rate monitor next to me, and there is one of those oxygen masks on me.
"Charlotte, I'm your nurse Lucy. Do you remember what happened? How are you feeling?" Lucy asks, from the chair next to me.
"Hi, I do remember. A deer ran out in front of me and I breaked too soon and crashed into a street lamp. And I'm feeling fine," I reply, shrugging.
"Okay, well you've broken your leg, but that is it. It want a bad break, so the cast should be off within a few weeks. It should be off before your half term, don't worry. You also have twenty stitches where you cut yourself," Lucy smiles, and I nod.
"Okay, thanks," I reply, and Lucy smiles.
"We can sign you out in about an hour, but you can have visitors if you like," Lucy says.
"Can I not have any visitors?" I ask, and Lucy nods.
"Well I'll tell you who's here anyway. There's your mother, two guys called River and Nathan, and River's mother," Lucy smiles, before leaving.
I lie down, groaning. Why did I have to smash my Mum's car? She won't have enough money for a new one, and I've just destroyed hers. She is going to hate me, argh, I hate myself. Why did I have to do that? I'm never going to drive a car again. Mum is going to be so cross, fuck. My Mum doesn't need the worry, she doesn't even have that long left. Shit, she's going to die soon and she'll die hating me. Why am I such an idiot? My Mum is going to die soon, I'll be all alone. I won't have a mother. And now I've started crying, argh. Fuck.
I close my eyes, mentally cursing myself as I let tears roll down my cheeks. When Mum is gone, I'll only have Lucas left. She's be gone. And she'll forget about me.
About an hour later, Lucy comes back in, and I'm still basically crying my eyes out, cussing under my breath. Lucy frowns, handing me a pair of crutches.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asks, and I nod. I take the crutches and stand up, hobbling over to the door.
"Thanks," I smile lightly, before leaving the room. Mum stands up, and I quickly hobble over to her and wrap my arms tightly around her.
"I'm so sorry, Mum. I'm so so sorry," I whisper, and Mum wraps her arms around me comfortingly.
"For what?" Mum asks, frowning.
"For smashing your car up," I reply, and Mum chuckles.
"Do you think I care about the car?" Mum asks, and I roll my eyes.
"I love you, don't you ever leave me," I whisper, and Mum sighs.
"I'll stay as long as I can," Mum whispers, and I sigh.
"Okay," I say, before stepping away from Mum, wiping away my tears. Nathan smiles lightly at me, and walks over. He presses his lips softly to mine, and I look up at him.
"Everything will be okay," Nathan whispers, and I nod. Then River pulls me into a hug and I freeze in shock. Then I carefully put my arms around his waist, and hug him back.
"If you ever want to talk, I'll be there," River whispers, and I smile.
"Thank you," I whisper, before stepping away from him.
We walk outside and River gets on his motorcycle with Nathan. Then they drive away, and I hobble over to the car and get in the back with my mum. We drive in silence, and reach home quickly.
"Thanks," I smile at Maia and Stephen, before climbing out the car and walking inside with Mum. I attempt to get upstairs, and Mum sighs.
"Why not have a few weeks sleeping on the sofa? It'll be fun," Mum grins, and I smile.
"Thanks, can you get me some clothes?" I ask, and Mum rolls her eyes, before going upstairs. I grab a blanket, and lie down on the sofa, smiling. A few minutes later, Mum comes downstairs with one of Lucas's old football shirts, which comes to just above my knee. I smile, before going and changing into it. Then I lie back down on the sofa, and close my eyes. For smashing a car up, definitely makes you tired.
