Chapter Nine: Stay.

Soon after River leaves for his date, someone else knocks on my bedroom door.

"Come in," I call, and Nathan walks in, surprising me.

"Hey Charlie, I was wondering if you'd like to, er, come out for dinner with me?" Nathan asks, looking slightly nervous.

"Sure," I reply, smiling. Is this a date? Or just two friends going out for dinner?

"Great, um, shall we go?" Nathan asks, sending me a mischievous grin.

"Sure, let's go," I smile, before we leave my bedroom and go downstairs. My Mum raises an eyebrow at me, and I smile. I open the door for Nathan, and we both leave the house. Nathan's motorcycle is parked neatly outside my house.

"You okay with motorbikes?" Nathan asks, and I nod.

"Yeah," I reply, as Nathan gets on. He moves forward so I get on behind him and wrap my arms around his waist. Nathan's muscles tense slightly under his shirt, but relax after a second. Then he starts to drive. He familiar views pass by in blurs, as Nathan drives down the many streets. Then we reach a small restaurant, and we get off his bike.

"You know what we're going to be?" Nathan asks, and I raise an eyebrow.

"What?" I ask, curiously.

"Spies, we're going to be spies," Nathan grins, before grabbing my hand and pulling me into the restaurant after him. I laugh, before we sit down at a table.

"For who?" I ask, curiously.

"River and Carly, of course. I don't like her," Nathan says, and I smile.

"I don't like her either, but it's all good, because she's going to regret ever hitting me," I say confidently, and Nathan smirks.

"I'm sure she will," Nathan chuckles, his playful blue eyes dancing. Then the door opens, and River walks in hand in hand with Carly. River looks straight at us, and we quickly hold up a menu. River frowns in confusion, as Nathan and I are just laughing behind the menu.

"Do you think he saw us?" I ask, and Nathan chuckles.

"Probably," Nathan shrugs, and I laugh.

"He probably just assumed you were someone else," I say, and Nathan grins. He puts down the menu and keeps his head down, his playful eyes still looking at mine. Then suddenly, his lips are smashed against mine. I freeze suddenly in surprise, before slowly moving my lips against his.

I'm kissing Nathan.

His lips move quickly against mine, and I run my fingers through his hair, smiling against his lips.

"I like you a lot, Charlie," Nathan mumbles against my lips.

"Who doesn't?" I smirk, and Nathan smiles.

"Carly doesn't," Nathan says, and I grin.

"Well she'll absolutely hate me soon," I chuckle, as Nathan pulls away ever so slightly so out foreheads are still touching.

"I don't doubt that for one minute," Nathan grins playfully. He's such a child. Then Nathan and I leave the restaurant, laughing.

"So," Nathan says, awkwardly.

"So," I reply, smirking at him.

"Be my girlfriend?" Nathan asks, suddenly. He looks more shocked than I do that that question actually came out of his mouth.
