Chapter 4

A year has passed and today was certainly one of the best days Merlin will ever experience in her young years. Until now, Merlin was home schooled. And today will be her first day to a public school. Hiroki have always kept her home because he didn't want her to get exposed to getting sick. Now he's trusting her. Well, after years of her stressing him about sending her to school. He even took the initiative of making them take the same classes. It was quite a difficult for both him and the school to do; but it is now finished.
"So, will I get my picture taken?" Merlin asked excitedly while fixing her uniform.

(This is how her uniform and bookbag looks like)
"You will but it'll take a while foe them to make your ID." Meguro replied.
"That's so cool! I can't wait to go!" She smiled widely.
This was the first time that he saw his sister smiling with pure joy. To Meguro, it's was weird for him to see his sister smiling normally. Most of the time it was either forced or she was in her fitz. It was kind of nice to see her like this for a while. But he was still uneasy about the fact that his father kept her away from school and only home schooling her on basic things for so long. Merlin's hair was styled into a high ponytail and had some hair pins in it. She even took some time into creating bangs for herself. They went outside and bid their father goodbye.
"Let's go, Meguro!" She smiled while pulling on her brother's arm.
"Slow down, Merlin. We're not going to be late." He smiled at her.
On their way to school, Merlin kept asking a lot of questions about school as he gratefully answered them as best as he could. He even made a promise with her that he'll fight any kids who decides on picking on her.
"Merlin, please promise me that you'll tell me who's bothering you when we start." He looked at her seriously.
"What are you talking about?" She tilted her head at his sudden mood change.
"There will be bullies and scene you're new, you'll be an easy target for them. Please promise me that you'll tell me if anyone bothers you." He explained.
"You'll beat them up?" She asked as her eyes sparkled with joy.
"Yeah, I'm gonna beat them up for you."
"Even if they're a girl?"
"Even if they're a girl."
"Okay. I promise."
And with that, they tracked their way to school.

In Class 2A

"Good morning, students. Today we have a new student joining us today." The teacher started.
"Please treat her as if she was a regular everyday student going to this school. Now, please give a warm welcome to Merlin Masaki."
Merlin walked through the door with a warm smile as she stood in front of the class.
"Now, Merlin. Tell us about yourself."
"Well, uh, as you all already know. My name is Merlin Masaki. I am 10 years old and I was home schooled until today. I hope we get along well." She smiled while giving her short introduction.
"Very good, Merlin. Now you can sit down beside Meguro."
And with that, she quickly went to sit beside her brother.
"You did good with your introduction." He praised.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Everyone, please turn to page 37 of your History textbooks."

Few months later

Merlin was walking towards her locker as Meguro went to the bathroom. Merlin grew accustom to the school rules and know the do's and don't's of their school. As she dug through her locker, she felt a tight grip on her shoulder. Merlin immediately knew it wasn't her brother. He would never greet her like that. She turned around to see a group of kids standing behind her. Two guys and three girls. The guy in the middle was the one holding her shoulder.
"C-can I help you?" She asked shily.
"No. I don't think you can't. But you wanna know how you could though?"
"What?"
"We noticed that you're close with that circus freak Meguro. How does it feel to be related to such a monster?"
Anger boiled up inside Merlin as she glared at the kid.
"My brother is not a freak! And he's not a monster!" She gritted her teeth.
"Oh, I'm scared. Little Merlin is angry. What will she do? Call her brother to beat me up?" He mocked as his other laughed.
Her then got closer to her face. His breath smelt like burnt rice and undigested instant noodle.
"Listen up, you little bitch. I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but WE run this school. Know your place, bitch."
Merlin tried her best not to snap at this kid. She was begging herself not to do it. And before she could react, someone appear behind the kid.
"Get... the fuck.. away from her." She heard Meguro gritted.
The other who were with his back away as the boy turned to face Meguro.
"What the fuck did you say?"
"You heard me."
The kid try to swing at Meguro but Meguro used his Judo and grappled him to the floor. Merlin watched in awe as her brother continued to use his Judo moves on the kid. She always thought that Judo was cool, now that she was seeing it up close made that obsession grew more than she could bare. A teacher was close by and stopped the fight before it escalated. The three of them was sent to the office.
"So you're saying that the boy threatened you sister and fought him to protect her?" The principal tried to analyze.
"That's right, sir."
"And is this all true?"
"Yes, sir-" Merlin tried to answer but the kid cut her off.
"NO, THAT'S NOT TRUE! THEY'RE LYING!"
The principal sighed at his outburst.
"I will going to contact your parents. Please go to your class."
They all obeyed and went to class.

After class

The three kids sat in the office as their parents said beside them.
"So, Merlin, can you explain what happened?" The principal questioned.
She then nodded at the principal.
"I was minding my own business before the kid came up to me with his group of friends and called my brother and monster and a freak. I got mad at what he said about my brother and he threatened me that he'll make my life miserable. He even cursed at me too."
"And what were those words?"
"He called me the b word and and little turd. But instead of turd, he used the other word."
"He what?!" Horoki roared.
"Ryo, how many times do we have to go over this?"
"Wait..." Hiroki chuckled.
"You're saying that this wasn't the first time he's done this? What kind of punishments are you giving him?"
"We usually let him go with a warning and detention. But it's clear to us now that we need to give him more intense punishments."
"This is ridiculous."
"You do not need to worry about him anymore, Mr. Meguro. Ryo will be put on suspension. But that doesn't mean that Meguro will not be getting any punishments either. He's going to receive two weeks of suspension."
