Chapter 7

During Merlin's suspension, Meguro promised that he'll make her tag along to hang out with him and the other Judo students. Hiroki allowed her to go with her older brother. Who knows what Meguro did to convince their father to let Merlin wander outside during her suspension, but it worked. On the other hand, Merlin thought they would be around his age. But she was wrong! Most of them looked like they were in their 20s. Munemitsu, Ishida, and Suzumoto looked like regular young men but the last one stood out. He looked possibly a bit older than Merlin and Meguro. And his eyes were not like any other. His eyes are a bright blue and were quite good-looking. With his chocolate brown hair and smooth chubby cheeks. Merlin felt a weird fuzzy feeling around him, and it felt good. Merlin hid her blush as they set off on their adventure. 

This was what Meguro and Merlin were wearing:

They've all decided on taking a stroll through the National Park with loads of street vendors. With the money that Meguro stole, it was enough for both him and his sister. Merlin was a nervous wreck on the other hand. She was getting to know the guy more and ended up knowing his name. It was Ryuu. Oh, how foolish of her to not ask him for his name. He was also a bit taller than Meguro but has a plumper body. Meguro didn't like this one bit. He wanted to spend time with his sister and show her off to his teammates how amazing she was, but some foreign punk just snatched it away from him. He hated every bit of it and Merlin could sense that. She could feel his menacing presence grow more wicked every time she hung around Ryuu. This led to her distancing herself from him, she didn't want Meguro to kill him. This was the first crush she has ever gotten and didn't want Meguro to take him away from her. The day have gone by so fast as everyone was about to go their separate ways. Before Merlin and Meguro could get a good distance towards their destination, a familiar voice called out for them... specifically for Merlin to wait. The two turned to see Ryuu running towards them. Ryuu then stopped in front of Merlin and held her hands into his. His hands felt so soft and smooth as this immediately made Merlin's face heat up. 
"Merlin, I had so much fun with you today. I hope we get to meet again." He smiled at the girl.
Merlin's smile grew as she looked down.
"Oh, I'm glad to hear that. We will meet again after this."
She knew that that was a lie. But she was too blinded by her love for him. He lets go and ran off like a giddy child on a sugar rush. While the twins were walking home, the two barely exchanged words with each other. Meguro was too focused on his schemes and Merlin was thinking about what she'll do when she goes back to school. When they got home, they've greeted their father and went to their rooms to change off their dirty clothes. Before Merlin could get her socks off properly, Meguro came in and closed the door behind him. He then sat her on the edge of her bed and looked directly into her eyes. 
"Merlin, I need you to be honest with me."
"Okay...?"
"Do you have a crush on Ryuu?" He asked straight forward.
"Uhhh..." Merlin trailed off as a slight blush trailed over her face.
"Merlin, please. I need to know."
"Why?"
"Because... because I'm worried about you, Merlin. I don't want you to be falling for the wrong guy. I know I'm sound a bit too controlling but please... I want to protect you." He explained, worry plastered in his wide eyes. 
Merlin knows that those were the only type of eyes she couldn't resist. She eventually gave in and told him the answer he was destined to hear from her. But this indeed made Meguro felt a type of way. She just met him, and already had feelings for Ryuu. But they do say love at first sight. He didn't like it either way but for his sister's happiness's sake, he won't do anything just yet.
The next day came along as Meguro and Hiroki left for the dojo. Merlin was left alone to complete her notes and homework. Meguro had a bunch of bones to pick with Ryuu. He's not going to hurt him just yet, but he needs to put him in his place if he's going to be around his sister. When they got there all the other students were waiting for their arrival. Ryuu was the first one Meguro saw and just wanted to beat his skull in. They all entered the dojo and did what they have to do. But while the others were warming up, Meguro dragged Ryuu outside before tackling him to the ground.
"Listen here, you little shit. I don't want you to hurt my sister. Okay?"
"Oh, she's your sister? Haven't realized it." Ryuu shrugged.
"What did you mean you didn't realize? We are identical twins for Christ's sake. She looks just like me." Meguro rolled his eyes.
He couldn't believe that this was the guy Merlin was crushing over for. But he can't control who she likes. Meguro's grip on the boy's hand grew tighter, resulting in Ryuu to hiss in pain.
"I won't do anything to her! I promise!" He cried out. 
"Bullshit." Meguro growled.
"I want you to stay away for her. I swear over my life, I will kill you."
His aura was so scary, it made Ryuu felt nauseous. He wanted to throw up so bad but couldn't get anything out.
"I'm glad we're on the same page." Meguro said all bubbly.
His attitude turned a whole 180 degrees and acted like nothing had happened. When Hiroki questioned what has happened outside, Meguro only replied that Ryuu had a panic attack and he calmed him down. 

Few days later, Merlin and Ryuu had a playdate today. Merlin was really excited to see Ryuu. But they're different plans that day. Too bad for her, Ryuu never showed up and never answered any of her texts. He set her up. She really liked him, and it hurts to so much to realize that he doesn't care about her. But that feeling went away when Meguro came in to comfort her. His voice was so kind and reassuring. He rubbed her back and told her that everything's going to be okay. The warmth of his body sent her into a deep sleep. But the one thing she didn't realized it the blood stained oh his face and the wicked smile he was wearing while he was comforting her.
