Riley's POV:
The next morning invited Christian over. Right when he got in my room he kept on telling me that he was so so sorry. And I kept telling him that I so so accepted his apology. I didn't want to lose Christian and My friendship again. I then invited Rachel over to help us with the computer tech stuff, because she knows more about that stuff than Christian and I do. I also invited her over because we were celebrating my birthday.
While we were celebrating my birthday, we ate ice cream cake, my favorite, and opened presents. Rachel handed her gift over to me. It was in a tape sealed box, which was very light. I used a cardboard knife to open it. When opened the box flaps open, all I saw was packing peanuts. I reached my hand in the ocean of peanuts trying to find my possession which I would eventually own. My hand stumbled on an envelope, so I grabbed it and pulled it out. I gave Rachel a weird look. Why would you put an envelope in a sealed box? Well, I guess Rachel is just being herself today. I slowly opened the envelope, looking at Rachel the entire time. When it was open, I pulled out a letter. It read:
Riley,
You've been my friend for as long as I can remember. And I want to thank you. This present isn't all of the thank you, though, its 2/4 of the thank you. I love you Riley. Flip this letter over.
And so I did. And taped on the back, were two concert tickets. To what concert? One Direction. They've been my favorite band since 2011. I love their music. I love them. I've always wanted to see them in concert. I can now cross that off my bucket list!
"OMG! RACHEL! THANK YOU SOO SOO MUCH!!"
We hugged for a few minutes, and cries tears of happiness. I don't know how Rachel could afford this. And I mean, it's just my birthday. She overdid my gift. The concert was scheduled for July 18 in Minneapolis. And after the concert, we could spend the next day shopping at Mall Of America! And that was only a few months away! I couldn't wait!
My parents got me an iPhone 6, which I was also very excited about. We spent most of the day figuring out how to set everything up, and play with my new stuff that I got.
The best thing is, is that this week I have off, except for after school activities:
Monday- Tae Kwon Do
Tuesday- Piano
Wednesday- CCD (Church class for an hour or so)
Thursday- Tae Kwon Do
Friday- FREE DAY!
My after school activities are pretty busy. But I don't have to go to school, and Rachel does. Sucks to be her. I've been thinking of pulling her out some day and go off and play hooky. I've been thinking of excused, too. Maybe call the principal and tell him that Rachel's grandmother died; Farris Bueller style.
That week I slept in, worked on computer stuff with Rachel and Christian, plotted dates for speeches, and chilled out. Pretty cool day, yet exhausting...
