~Aleks' POV~

Today was the day of my first assignment, where I would rob a gas station. Jordan told me that Nick will come with me and take out the cashier for me. I'd get the money, leave the store, and once the doors closed, and Nick would kill him.

I still wasn't all about this whole homicide thing, but as long as I didn't do it, I'd be fine. Jordan decided to come along so we can again, hop in the car and speed off.

12:57 AM

I hopped into the back seat of the van, Nick sitting in the passenger seat. I sat in the middle, with my arms leaned up on the two chairs in front of me. My bottom sunk in the poor-quality cushions. I sighed loudly, but Jordan and Nick didn't notice because they were singing together.

"Oh, misty eye of the mountain below..." Jordan started.

"Keep careful watch of my brother's souls..." Nick finished.

They began to sing together. I had never seen Nick like this. It was quite surprising. Jordan suddenly stopped the car and looked back at me.

"Get your mask on, we're here." He whispered as he pulled out his phone, calling Steven again. "This is going to be very similar to what you did with James and Seamus." He tossed me a bag. "Black out the cameras, like James did." He tipped his cap.

"Hey guys, you ready? If so, just wait outside and I'll cut the power. Again."

I opened the car door and gripped my duffle bag, which was slung over my chest. I quickly placed my helmet on my head and ran toward the door.

"Now." I demanded, soon seeing the lights turn off in the station. The clerk popped his head up, and I could see the whites of his eyes. He must have heard about this same thing happening on the news. When we barged through the doors, Nick quickly pulled out his SMG and pointed it at the shaking clerk.

I opened my bag and grabbed the cans of spray paint. I couldn't reach the cameras. There was a step ladder in front of an aisle, which I quickly snatched and hopped atop of it.

"Money, bag. It's that simple." Nick whispered, calmly.

The clerk was crying. His eyes were red and he was sweating. I couldn't imagine what he was feeling at that very moment. I continued to paint out the cameras, but the image was still in my head. I could hear his sobs, his screams. Nick pressed the gun nozzle against his head.

"Shut up." he whispered in the clerk's ear. He was silenced. The bag was full, and Nick took it from him and before he pulled the trigger, I stepped in.

"Spoon, please..."

Nick looked me in the eyes through his horse mask. "Turn away, kid."

"Spoon, you don't have to-"

He threw the bag at my face, blocking my eyesight, and then I heard a silenced gunshot.

I had never ran so fast in my life. I fought back my tears and heavy breathing. It brought back the image of Seamus shooting the clerk and bolting. Honestly, I felt like throwing up. I hopped back in the car ripped off my mask, wiping my sweating face. Nick came in soon after.

"The fuck, Aleks? Thanks to you, I only had one minute to get out of there before the cameras came back on!" He sounded annoyed.
