~Aleks' POV~

James and I quietly snuck out into the hallway, shoes in hand to reduce noise. The hall was dark, due to the lack of windows, but when we stepped back into the large opening room it was bright, light seeping through every exposed area. James grabbed my hand and pulled me outside, where we then put on our shoes. He led me to the side of the warehouse, and he stopped. I looked up at the ladders and staircases, shielding my eyes from the sun.

"There's stairs every now and then, see?" He pointed up some more.

I shook my head. "It's still far from the ground."

James rolled his eyes and watched me as I stepped onto the the first rung of the metal ladder, steadying myself. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, letting my body calm itself.

Climbing the ladder wasn't difficult; it's like when you know you can do something but you know the negative things that could happen. I'm quite the negative person. No matter what happens, the first thing I think is the worst thing possible. After I think for a while, I see the positives. But sometimes I don't think that much, and all I think are negative thoughts. They override my brain, my thoughts. This was how my travel up the building was like.

"Fuck." I mumbled, my foot slipping on a rung.

"I'm right here, keep going, we're close to the top. If you fall, I will catch you. If I don't catch you, we'll fall together." His eyes were watery, and gleamed when I looked back at him.

~James' POV~

What a clumsy fuck.

Honestly, though, if the love of my life fell to the ground, I would, without hesitation, jump. I would do anything I could to be with him, even if I had to die. I may have only been with him for a day, but it feels like I have been with him my whole life.

Aleks finally regained his balance and steadied his breathing, beginning to climb again. We only had, say, four more steps to go up, so there was no way he could possibly fuck up again. He gripped the concrete on the roof and hopped up, myself doing the same. I stood next to him, hands going in my pockets.

"It's not 6:30, is it?" He whispered, fixing his hair.

"No," I smiled. "It's 5 in the morning." He shot a glance at me and groaned. "Why are we here so early?"

"Sunrises in Colorado are gorgeous. I heard today's sky was going to be extra colorful, so I thought it would be nice if we could watch it for a bit. I wasn't sure what time the sun usually rises, so getting here early should be for the better." I grinned, seeing the scowl on his face. It soon turned into a relaxed face, after he had accepted that I did indeed lie to him.

"You know, I actually have never seen a sunrise before. Yeah, maybe I have seen the sun just come out, but never have I watched it come from the horizon to high up there," he pointed at the sky, "but it sounds beautiful."

Beautiful. Just like him.

"Well, there's a first for everything, right?" We locked eye contact, his chestnut colored eyes dark due to the lack of light. He smirked, and we walked hand in hand to the edge of the roof. I sat on the hard concrete, Aleks sitting in my lap. He leaned against my chest, allowing me to embrace the rest of him.

"James," He began. "What are we?"

I furrowed my brow. "What do you mean?"

"Me and you. Are we, like, together now?" He paused. "I hope I don't sound stupid."

I cracked a smile and placed my head atop his. "Maybe, but let's keep this as our little secret for a bit, okay?"

He nodded slightly, but the silence didn't last. We weren't talking, no, we were listening. It was around 5:30, the time that the sun rises and the birds begin to chirp. I smiled ear-to-ear and felt his soft hair shift around near my chin. The breeze was cold, but whenever he shivered, I would hold him tighter.

I can't believe that I met the love of my life in a chat room.

~Aleks' POV~

The sun peeked out as I rested my head on James' chest. His arms were wrapped around my chest, like the seats on roller coasters. There was no way I was escaping his embrace unless he allowed me out. Not that I wanted to leave, or anything. I would spend hours sitting in silence with him. The thing is, we don't even have to speak, and we just know what we are thinking. That doesn't make any sense, I know. It's just that, when you know that someone who cares about you is close, you just know what they are thinking, I guess. Maybe it's just me.

The sky - on the other hand, was slowly acquiring warm hues. It became a bright orange, with the sky behind us staying the blue-grey it had been earlier. It was a slow process, watching the sky slowly turn brighter and brighter. I think that if I sat there all day, I wouldn't mind one bit. Astronomy is so fascinating; the moon, the sun, the stars. A lot of people think I got an astronaut tattoo because I 'thought it looked cool.' Actually, when I was younger, I wanted to become an astronaut. I would read every book and watch every video on it, hoping that some day, I could be up in space, watching Earth rotate from a satellite. Unfortunately, I couldn't pay to go to college, and either way, with the things I have done, there is no way I could do so. Therefore, when I knew it was all just a dream that would never come true, I realized that it was something that meant a lot to me. When things mean so very much to you, and put a large impact on your life, it is worth imprinting onto your skin permanently.

"So, how is it?" James whispered into my ear, pushing the hair back.

"Amazing," I stopped to take everything in. "But, it's even better with you here."

I could feel him smile, because his head was placed atop mine. Damn, I love him so much.

He moved, so that his chin was placed on my shoulder. I turned towards him, our noses touching. His sweet brown eyes gleamed, as he moved closer to me.

I shut my eyes, letting our lips meet.

Anything that happened during that kiss is not to be spoken about. Let's just say it was my first, so I needed a bit of practice.

We ended up laying next to each other, curled up all until noon.

I should watch sunrises more often.
