    Case File No. 103
Location: Port Detective Agency, Nuclear DNA Investigation Area
    Time: 4:22 PM, Pasific Time

Currently, Devlin, Alia, Eli, Kalm, and the Chief were all in the DNA investigation area. All of them held a concerned and worried look on their faces. Alia and Chief were crouched down at the machine that was supposed to be giving them the DNA of the hair follicle. Kalm was looking at the paper that Devlin had given the three, he held a shocked look in his eyes. Eli shuffled through the paperwork that the Chief was looking at earlier.

"There's nothing," Kalm said as he flipped the paper back and forth. "Absolutely, nothing on this paper. Isn't there supposed to be something on here? DNA prints? Anything?"

"That's what supposed to happen," Chief said as he groaned getting back up from his crouching position. "However, it seems like the machine for the DNA is broken, and badly. There's nothing we can do about it."

"We need a professional," Eli muttered out loud as he threw the papers he had in hand on a nearby table. "There's no other way to look at it. Although we have come to some conclusions on the suspect, we still need to make sure that that hairpiece is the victim's or the murderer's. Who knows, it could lead us to murderer straight on."

Devlin and the Chief's eyes slightly widened in surprise. "Really? What did you find?" Devlin asked as the Chief glanced around the room.

"Unfortunately, we found out that the killer may be one of our staff. Who it is, is something we still need to figure out," Eli answered as he rubbed his head. "However, if the black hair is not the victims', then we can easily narrow it down to only a handful of staff. That way we'll be able to question that number of people. It will make the job much easier after all.

"Excellent work," Chief said as he nodded his head, his eyes squinted upwards meaning that he was smiling under his mustache. "I'm glad to see that you guys are getting along."

"Hey," Devlin leaned over to Kalm, making him lightly flinch at the sudden attention. "How come you didn't tell me about this stuff?"

"Oh, uh," Kalm stuttered, "you showed up suddenly and took us all by surprise. I couldn't tell you anything because of the franticness of everything happening at the time. Besides, you seemed so serious, and I didn't want to bother you."

Devlin stared at Kalm for a second longer, making Kalm nervous and uncomfortable at the staring. Devlin's black narrow eyes were bored into Kalm's skull as Kalm couldn't do anything but wait for Devlin to stop staring at him. Kalm had to look everywhere but at Devlin. He couldn't help but feel like he was doing something wrong because of how Devlin looked at him. However, Devlin smiled and nodded before leaning away.

"Don't worry, I get ya," Devlin stated. "People just react in the heat of the moment, so I get where you're coming from. It's all good."

Kalm let out a small sigh before smiling at Devlin. "Ah, thank you for understanding, Fujihara."

"Please just call me Devlin, I'm not one for last names."

    "Oh, of course, Devlin."

"I can work on this," Alia spoke up as the tech work of the DNA machine was opened and she was looking at it. "With a few of the right tools, I think I will be able to fix this."

"Fix it? You're able to fix this kind of stuff?" Eli questioned as the rest of the group turned to look at Alia.

Alia nodded with a confident smirk. "I was an engineer before I fell in love with being a detective. I'll be able to have this thing fixed in no time, even sooner than you call someone and have them fix it."

"That's perfect!" Kalm exclaimed. "What tools do you need? We should have this machine fixed so that we can get this case solved and done."

"Kalm's right," Eli stated as he smiled. "Whatever you need, just tell us and we'll help."

"Yep," Devlin dragged out as he put a hand on his hip.

Alia blinked in slight shock that everyone was on board with her. She wasn't going to lie, she thought that the others wouldn't agree with her and that she would have to fight why her reasoning was better. She couldn't help but smile at the fact that the other detectives trusted her as much as they were doing now. It was a great improvement from when they started out. It was nice to have a change.

"Right, here's what I will need," Alia said as she stood up and dusted her pants.
