Chapter 4: Secret Admirer
"I want to confess. I just can't. Not right now, she might think that I'm already falling for her. Oh? who gave me this?"
It was one rainy morning, Chaeyoung couldn't stop thinking of Mina. The introduction, her smile, her blush, the fall and even her death stares, slowly by slowly, she was falling in love. But she didn't confessed, even though she saw Mina's blush before, she kept on thinking the fact that she doesn't like girls and when she confess, Mina is just going to reject her.
"I wish I can just confess, but I can't, I still don't know her a lot. No, that won't do, she's cold enough to feel how I feel. If she's a cold hearted penguin, then how is she blushing at that time of the accident???"
While she kept on organizing her thoughts, her sister, Ryujin, burst in her room with excitement
Ryujin: hey sisssss, someone's outside. Is he your secret admirerrr
Chaeyoung: hey! Who told you can just burst in my room, get out and what secret admirer?
Ryujin: I don't know, his name was Sung Hoon, Myoi Sung Hoon. Brother of Mina? Who's Mina??? Anyway, he's waiting outside
Chaeyoung stood up and hurriedly went outside to see Sung Hoon standing in front of their house
Chaeyoung: hello? You're Sung Hoon, right?
Sung Hoon: hi, yes, my name is Myoi Sung Hoon but call me Sung Hoon, Mina's older brother, you must be Chaeyoung
Chaeyoung: h-how did you know my name and my house?
Sung Hoon: I asked Dahyun about you, I just want to clear some things, if it's okay with you?
Chaeyoung: sure, not a problem
Chaeyoung went out and closed the gate behind her
Chaeyoung: so, what was that something you want to know?
Sung Hoon: I heard that Mina blushed because of you
"because of me? Not because of shock?"
Chaeyoung thought
Chaeyoung: because of me? I think yeah?
Sung Hoon: thank you, thank you so much for making Mina blush
Chaeyoung: oh, uhh, no no I-
Before Chaeyoung could even say something to Sung Hoon, he immediately went inside his car and shouted 'goodbye'. Meanwhile Ryujin was secretly watching them the whole time
Ryujin: eomma! Unnie has a secret admirer!
Chaeyoung: WHAT THE, NO HE'S NOT! He's just the brother of my classmate!
Chaeyoung shouted while running inside the house. Sung Hoon looking back Chaeng's house as he drove away, he told himself
Sung Hoon: Mina sure fell in love with a nice person, I hope she's the one
When Chaeyoung went back to her room, confused about the sudden thanks of Sung Hoon and her annoying sister, Ryujin, who kept on saying about her secret admirer
Wait........
Secret admirer?
That's it!
An idea lit up Chaeyoung's mind
"what if I just become Mina's secret admirer, so I can confess without her knowing. Sounds like a great idea"
She immediately picked up a pen and a paper to start her letter. Before she can even write the first word, thoughts raced her mind again
"what if she notices that a girl wrote this? Or even worse, what if she discovers it was me?"
Chaeyoung: this is frustrating, I'll just draw something for her, like what? A penguin? Yeah, sounds good
As Chaeyoung started to draw down her ideas, a loud knock is once heard again at her door
"you got to be kidding me"
Chaeyoung: come in!
It wasn't Ryujin this time, but her youngest sister, Jin Sol. She was holding a gift box for Chaeyoung
Chaeyoung: oh, why are you here Jin Sol?
Jin Sol: someone told me to give this to you
Chaeyoung: who?
Jin Sol: I don't know, they were wearing a black hoodie with the hood on and gave me this. They told me to give it to you but before I could even ask their name, they ran away. Umm, here you go
Jin Sol gave the letter to her and went downstairs. Chaeyoung gently opened the box and saw a small crochet strawberry bag. The bag has a yellow base with small strawberries lined up at the bottom, a slightly thick purple lace at the top, and a long blue crocheted strap that goes across the chest. All of the parts of the bag were all crocheted and was made just for her.
Chaeyoung read the small letter that came with it
It read:
To Chaeyoung,
I tried crocheting for the first time and I came up with this. I don't normally use bags so I wanted to give this to you. I hope you like it
The name of the sender was nowhere to be found, even at the bottom of the letter. But Chaeyoung immediately assumed that it was probably from her childhood friend, Somi
Somi was one of Chaeyoung's childhood friends. Chaeyoung and Somi were both good friends ever since they were little. But after they grew up, they lost communication
Chaeyoung: Somi is trying to build up our friendship again, huh? The bag looks nice though, I might use this tomorrow
Little did Chaeyoung know, Mina was actually looking at her window, watching her. Still trying to get to know her. It started to rain again and Mina decided to go home. She put on her black hood back and went home
