A day I cant forget

Chapter 2

The sudden phone call from Xiao's mother was about Xiao needing to come home as soon as possible, Xiao left Venti's apartment disappointed that he couldn't get to ask him more questions, more importantly he couldn't get to listen to Venti's piano playing again.

And as always he came home to more scolding and shouting for going home extra late, but there was a benefit on following the music tot he band club room and meeting the pianist, Venti. Xiao now goes to school much earlier than usual and visits the band club room after school, he begins to learn more about Venti each day.

"You're here early today Xiao, hehe! were you that excited to see me today?"

"Enough chitchat, you said you were going to teach me how to play that song i like" Xiao quickly sat down beside Venti on the piano seat.

"Easy now, you'll have to learn the keys first before you can start memorizing them, got it?"

"Don't lecture me, I wouldn't come here to learn something while being unprepared. I know the positioning of the keys, i used to like learning about the piano when i was the same age as my younger sister Ganyu"

"Well then, start with the basic tune Xiao" To Venti's surprise, Mister Xiao who was bragging about his skills a second ago didn't know how to press the keys at the right time. He was playing it too fast and was banging on the piano, it was quite a hilarious sight to see.

Venti chuckles and places his hands over Xiao's guiding him on which keys to press and how fast it should be until he presses another key. Xiao flinches on the sudden touch, his eyes was filled with surprise as he watches his hands be guided by Venti's and slowly the room was filled with music.

"See? It's not that easy isn't it, you should observe an expert first before trying it out. An expert, someone like me!" Venti brags

Xiao didn't bother replying, he had to admit that it was the first time he actually played music on a piano. Xiao wanted to learn more, the moment he heard the keys combine together he felt as if the music was embracing him. He felt so peaceful, he wanted more, he wanted Venti to guide him.

"I want to learn more"

"Tsk tsk asking me for something for free without even saying 'please' how rude!" Venti and his never ending teases, Xiao still can't get used to them.

"This is ridiculous" Xiao sighs and gives up "Venti please teach me more"

"I don't know, who knows maybe i might have to compete with you at the festival if i did hehehe!" Venti teases seeing that Xiao found interest on playing the piano.

"Thats absurd, what's with the festival thing you've been talking about ever since i payed your apartment a visit?"

"Well if ever that I win the festival well i mean our band club wins the festival, the song i played will be remembered by thousands of people who watched the festival! Maybe they'll even remember the pianist who played the song" Venti sighs "I want to be remembered alongside my song" says Venti who wore a light smile on his face.

"It means too you that much? Are you sure thousands of people would even watch a college music festival.."

"Come on! Have some hope will ya? It's not the amount of people watching, it's about being remembered as someone who played on that big fancy stage! Sounds cool huh?"

"Ah seriously i came here to learn not to chat about you and your dreams you know"

"But what about you? Why do you study so hard, even if you dont work your butt off studying for hours you'll definitely get accepted to any job. Plus we're in our college days! I think we can relax a bit and enjoy our lives as an adult soon, have new interests on things and lay low ya know!" There he goes again, lecturing Xiao non-stop.

"It's not like i have a choice, I'll have to keep up my top-student title until at least my parents dies or something, I hated them for being against me and playing a piano, they sued the music teacher back in high school for taking my time to study and teaching me how to play, i couldn't face her again after that. Making me study and not letting me do anything else if it wasn't related to studying or school, how annoying "

"Come on get up let's go outside"

"What? It's raining outside plus I said please and you haven't even taught me anything yet!"

"Hurry up and listen to me, I promise i'll teach you now" Venti somehow always has the last word when it comes to them arguing and Xiao didn't like that, Venti would always leave him unable to talk back with his teases or with his sudden touches.

"It's raining there's nothing we can do here, let's get back inside" This crazy bastard what's he doing agai— Xiao says to himself while watching Venti do whatever he wants to do again.

"Hey! what are you doing? Are you crazy? Do you want to catch a cold or someth—" Venti holds Xiao's wrist and pulls Xiao into the rain fully drenching his clothes.

"Hehe! Fun right? Come on lets go, don't say anything and just follow me"

"Fun? My clothes are wet and its hella cold!"

"I said not to say anything did I?"

Xiao didn't know what this crazy pianist was doing, they were running around the streets without an umbrella and letting the rain soak them fully. He didn't know why he was letting this guy take control of him, Xiao didn't know didn't know why Venti always looks at him with a smile on his face. Right now, looking at Venti felt different, he felt strange, he was feeling something he was unfamiliar with, he didn't know what to do about it.

Seeing Venti look back at him every now and then to make sure he was still there made him feel weird, not in a bad way but he didn't know what he was feeling, his heart throbs and his mind filled up with Venti and his crazy ideas.

"Do you feel better now? They say memories made in the rain lasts longer, let's see if thats true shall we?"

"I feel cold"

"Come onnn!! Endure it a little longer, who knows when we'll get to do this again"

Venti said that memories in the rain lasts longer, for some reason i couldn't forget that day, he held my hand and dragged me into the rain and i didn't know why, but it was refreshing. I wish he does it again, I wish he holds my hand and drag me into the rain and run alongside him.

Author notes: For those who have read "Seasons of Blossom" and thought that some part were familiar then, YES THIS CHAPTER WAS INSPIRED BY THAT ONE CHAPTER!! I hope you enjoyed this one, I actually took my time while writing this one
