Izuku grunted as he pressed a button his dash, making the Mach 5 and the car Cannonball was driving flip to the side...right infront of the camera. The Mach 5 flips down, pancaking the GRX, while the Mach 5 crashes free, leaving the exposed spear hook to hang limply from the front of the GRX,"Cannonball is clearly using a spear hook" Cass Jones, one of the announcers said.
"That could cost him the Hall of Fame" Ben Burns said, nodding.
Izuku tried to start the Mach 5, but it only sputtered," No no no no NO, DONT DO THIS!" He cried, shaking the wheel.
"The Triple-phase conductors fried" the voice said, belonging to Sparky, his mechanic and friend of 3 years
"Sparky, get me back in this race" Izuku said, watching as all the other racers passed him along the bend.
Meanwhile in the stands, Pops, Mom, Spritle, his surrogate family, and Kyouka, his girlfriend all sit in anticipation," What is it, what's wrong?" Mom asked
"The crash must have dislodged the main conductor" Pops said, rubbing his chin
"The starters overloaded.." Sprittle added, looking worried.
Izuku sat there, growing more and more frustrated," The nickel-hydrate cells are hemorrhaging, I've got Dendrite readings everywhere" Sparky said, as he looked over his console.
"What do i do??" Izuku pleaded, trying to start the car again, failing once more.
Meanwhile, in the VIP section, Rex Racer watched Izuku, and spoke, even though he knew the kid he thought of his little brother wasn't listening," Don't Panic...just listen 'Speed'...just listen to 'er" He said, quietly
"If i could difibulat-"
"Shh, Sparky, just..just give me a second.." Izuku said, closing his eyes, as the noise of the stadium dyed out.
"is there anything he can do?" Mom asked, looking at Pops "if he patches the starter...configurator...If he puts the car in 5th gear, he can jump start the whole thing"
"Would he know that..? ...Would sparky?" Mom asked, growing more and more worried for her surrogate son.
Meanwhile, Izuku is just listening to the mach 5... and he askes a single question..."What do you want..?" and something from outside his force told him to put the car in 5th gear... He steps on the accelerator, then hits the starter and the Mach 5 roars to life. The crowd screams to the wail of burning rubber.
"He's back in it! But less than a lap and a half, I don't know what kind of chance he has." Cass Jones said, wondering how this kid will make it.
"Come on Kid! Move it!" Ben Burns said, clearly wanting Izuku "Speed" Racer to win
Izuku flies out of the spiral like a bat out of hell, reaching breakneck speeds in seconds.He's a half-lap behind the entire field but every eye in the stadium is on the white and red streak of lightning as it thunders by, rattling the elaborate lace work of concrete and steel gaining, inch by inch, foot by foot.
" Look at the Split! He's Shattering the lap record!" Cass exclaimed, now wanting the young man to win
"It doesn't mean anything without those checkers" Ben said, getting back into a more serious composure.
Izuku comes out of the spiral, glimpsing the back of the trailers as they go over the Big Drop. Where they ease over the edge, Izuku hurls out, going airborne, free-falling past two trailers, as the grade of the slope reaches up and gently eases the Mach 5 back onto the track, to the delight of the crowd. The Mach 5 surfs up the big bank, weaving through another pair that try to stop him with spectacularly disastrous results. Outside the Mach 5 a maelstrom of violent chaos churns.
Meanwhile inside, Speed is perfectly at peace.
"No hesitation, Nothing phases him..No one seems capable of stoping him" Cass said
"This kid isnt just driving, oh no...He's on a mission" Ben said, with a grin on his face.
Meanwhile, Royalton is throwing stuff around, as he watched his drivers get taken out," STOP HIM! STOPPPP HIMMMM!" He screamed, heaving breaths at the broadcast.
Izuku weaves through the butterfly cloverleaf, taking each turn at such intense speeds that the cars he passed seem to be moving in slow motion. By the end of the slalom, he is back where he left off, with two cars left ahead of him-- Mushi Motors and the Gray Ghost.
"With a quarter lap to go, 'Speed Racer' is back! Two cars between him , and destiny!" Cass exclaims, jumping out of his seat.
Izuku suddenly feels the weight of everything that has brought him. to this point. He sees images and hears voices, flashing through his head, as though at his own death. The montage finishes with the image of Izuku as a ten year old boy, drawing pictures of race cars, making all the noises, lost in a dreamworld that has become reality.
Izuku grimaces as he and the other two racers fall into the last part of the race. The trio are weaving in and out of each other, almost clipping each other. the crowd is going crazy, standing on their feet to get a better look at what's going on down at the track. Izuku knows that he needs to do something if he wants to win...and he's willing to risk it.
He drives up the side of the slight incline on the side, getting ahead of the other two racers, and deploys his Auto Jacks, launching off the wall, and catching both cars with his, and tosses them away, making both of the remaining drivers Bubble out as both cars explode. The Mach 5 does a barrel roll through the explosion, as he slides into Victory lane, the Nose of the Mach 5 the only thin touching the ground, when he suddenly stops, and the Mach 5's engine cuts out.
The thundering of the crowd could be felt in Izuku's chest, making its way to his heart., as fans start storming over the barrier, crowding Izuku and the Mach 5.
"Its pandemonium! People have gone completely crazy! In 14 years we've never seen anything like this!" Cass Jones said, with complete shock on his face
"Its a whole new world, baby, its a whole new world~" Ben Burns said, smug as a fox.
The crowd lifts Izuku onto their shoulders, as the Speed Family makes their way to him.
"Izuku!" Kyouka shouts, as she pushes her way towards him. Izuku sweeps her off her feet, and kisses her deeply, the flash and clicks of camera's surrounding them
In the Background, we see Spritle covering Chim-chim's, his monkey, eyes, and Mom and Pop just stand back, proud as can be.
-meanwhile, in UA-
Bakugo, along with rest of 3A look in shock, as well as Shouta Aizawa.
Izuku Midoriya, or 'Speed Racer' as they called him had won the final Race of the World Racing Leauge.
Nobody knew this was what had happened to the skinny boy when he was expelled from UA during the Quirk Assessment Test. Kyouka had walked out, calling their teacher a Quirkist asshole, and joined Izuku in leaving UA. Class A fully believed that they had dropped off the face of the earth...When pictures of a green haired, built man man driving a white, tech car, broke records in a track in America, Called Thunderhead.
"i fucked up' Shouta said quietly.
He knew the kid was smart, considering he was the one who graded his exam. He just wished he could've seen past the image of Oboro to give the skinny green haird teen another chance...
