"Kaito, wake up! You'll be late for practice if you continue to sleep." Mom yelled out from the bottom of the stairs.
I got myself out of bed, and stumble on my way to the bathroom. Pulling myself up to the mirror... forcing myself to look at my reflection. I noticed there were two more bruises then usual.
"Coming right down mom!" I yelled back.
I slowly move my way to my room again.
Why do I have to go back to practice I haven't even healed yet.
All I feel like doing right now is falling asleep and letting my dreams take me over. I guess nothing can be that easy right.
After practice what else do I have to do? Maybe some school work.
I grab my practice sword, gear and some snacks.
"Bye mom I am heading out now!" I listen for a reply but I don't hear one. So I continue to leave the apartment. I walk out the door and see Sayo walking outside.
"Sayo! Wait up!" I yelled out after her.
"Kaito! I'll wait right here for you." Sayo said in her beautiful lovely voice.
She's mesmerizing.
Every time I see her my heart beats ten times faster. Her voice is so soothing, I could listen to it all day long. I wish I could stay with her forever.
I pace over to her.
"Hey", I say clearly out of breath.
Sayo chuckles at me.
"Hey what's so funny?" I say in a more demeaning way.
"Nothing, haha, it's nothing" she puts her hand over her mouth to try and cover the laugh.
"Oh really!" I say teasingly.
I lean over her, just enough to warn Sayo about what's coming next.
"Stop! No please don't do it!" She yelped out with a laugh.
"But you have brought it along me to do so love."
I put my hands around her waist and pick her up. Lifting her higher then I have before. So high she looked like she was going to the heavens. The light hit her so perfectly.
"Haha, I really wish I had a camera with me so I could take a photo of you." I said with a big smile on my face.
She laughed her beautiful laugh, mesmerizing and majestic.
"You're to funny Kaito!" She responded in her captivating voice.
I set her down and looked at her, studying her. I laughed with her and walked her to the bus stop, and we shared our goodbyes. As I walk i look at the ground the whole time, only pick up my head to look at the occasional traffic coming my way. Almost half way there to practice, I picked up a few donuts to eat before hand. Only to help me try to regain my stamina.
As i was walking to practice all I kept hearing in the back of my head was, don't go, but I still had to go to practice. No matter how much I disliked it.
As i approached the entrance, I noticed something off. I couldn't quite notice it yet.
As i walked through the entrance I noticed that no one was here. The voice in the back of my head popped up again but louder, Don't go into the back. That's all it said. So I obviously walked to the back with my sword in hand. I know that I am not the most experienced swordsman but still, I had a bit of talent. I still had an unsettling feeling and I was going to find out why, and what's causing it. Or should I say, who...
While opening the back door, I noticed something in the distance.. a body. . .
I proceed to walk over to the body, noticing the limpness and the decay that was starting.
"Who is this?" I accidentally said out loud. I heard nothing, not even the voice in my head was talking. Looking around frantically to see if my master came in, I didn't see him. I walk away from the body still not being able to tell who it is. Their face was distorted and ripped apart. Although there wasn't much blood around to be able to tell it was a dead person. Who ever did this... had a motive. I run upstairs to see if I could find my master. No luck. I can only think of one other place he could be, the gardens out in the back. I rush back down the stairs and proceed cautiously out into the back of the building. Only noticing more bodies.. some hanging and some laying in the grass and bushes. I rush out to see if I could find my master.
I found his body under the flagrant trees. Blood that was somewhat fresh seeped out of his neck. He was still breathing...
"Master! Master, what happened..." I pleaded out, almost crying.
"Kaito". He said in a low and raspy voice.
"What are you doing here, you need to leave. Leave now! Leave Kaito, leave now!" He said as his voice died out, starting to fade away, as if someone was taking away his soul and clamming it as there own.
"I can't just leave you like this master!" I cried out.
"The Shinigami is coming... you... must... go..." He pleaded as the light went out of his eyes and eternal darkness consumed him.
As much as I wanted to stay and fight this Shinigami I know I don't have enough strength or ability to beat them. I run out the building and rush home.
Once I reached the apartment I ran into my room. Searching for my computer only to find it open with a letter on the keyboard.
The heading on the letter said Shinigami... I wanted to open the letter so bad but I couldn't bring myself to. Everything that has just happened had been from this Shinigami. Who was this being? I need to know. I put the letter aside and proceed to type into my search bar, Shinigami, searching through all the information I could find on this being. All I knew for sure now was that this being could manipulate you into thinking you are talking with a dead one you loved. Shinigami prays on your weaknesses and makes sure you feel pain and suffering for all eternity. What Shinigami does is, taking possession of the one he killed and then takes there voice and plays mind games on you. All I can truly do for now is try and figure out how to kill him.
He murdered the people who trained me, and more importantly murdered my master...
I am coming for you Shinigami!
