I stood there over her body for what felt like eternity... motionless. What was I supposed to do now.
Running over to her I notice that she was fading, her eyes softened and went back to normal. Her facial expressions unchanging from when I killed her.
I killed my mother!
It had just dawned on me that I had been the one to kill the only person I loved more then anything. She was gone and nothing could change that.
I had to leave...
Blood was spilling out from where I had my sword. Panicking I looked around and tried to see what I could do... nothing. I gripped her in my arms and held her till I could see that she was really gone.
Nothing like this had ever happen before... only with my master, but I didn't kill him. It was oddly strange see how my mothers eyes just went away. It was as if they were never really there.
I ran out of my room in a panic not really knowing what I should do. I headed outside only to see that Sayo was waiting for me at the same exact spot we meet at this morning. Everything was a bit off though. Sayo didn't seem like herself. I was worried that she had changed but she hadn't. It was as if the day was on a rewind, as if I had to repeat my mothers murder....
"Sayo did you see anyone leave the building?"
"What?" She said in a confusing tone.
More demanding I asked again,
"Sayo! Did you see anyone leave the building?"She gave the same response and then walked away. As strange as this was I ran back inside the building only to see my mom hanging from a rope. She still had the stab wound but how was she now hanging?
I started to question everything that was around me, I began to slap myself just to see if I was still awake...
Nothing changed. Everything felt messed up. There was something off about it this situation. I could feel something telling me to go back outside. So I did....
The same thing kept happening and every time I went back inside she was dying in multiple different ways, but always having one thing the same.... The stab wounds I had given her when I murdered her.....
Every time I had bumped into Sayo she kept acting stranger. It was as if she was also fading. I knew that my mind was just playing tricks on me. There's no way this could be real. Could it?
All I kept telling myself was to calm down and wake up from this nightmare!
There was absolutely nothing I could do... where was I supposed to go. Everything felt so weird, nothing felt the same.
hEy there KaITo! This is quit the mess you're iN isn't iT?
Stop talking to me! Just LEAVE ME ALONE!
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed out of the window.I can't handle this anymore! Every time I walk in here I want to die all over again. Why did I kill her?
BecAuSe you hAd tO kaitO.
No. I didn't have to did I? I could have saved her.
I... could've... saved her....I tried to break this loop but nothing was changing. I always came back up those stairs and I always saw her dead again.
When I looked at her this time it was as if she was melting. All of these loops have been washing her away.... Making her disappear into thin air. How was I supposed to live with myself at this point.
After almost a day of running in and out of my room I realized that there was no way I could stop this. I sat by my mother one last time while I still noticed who she was.
"Mother, I'm so sorry for what I have done. I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to... all I want is my mother back," looking around I noticed something was off and when I looked back at my mom she was gone.
I proceeded to walk over to my table and looked at my computer. Big large red letters popped up on the screen. I proceed to read them....
YOU NEED TO LEAVE!
The letters flashed over and over again.
I heard something coming up the stairs and realized that I needed to escape my room. How was I supposed to do this though? I've been stuck for hours on end and haven't been able to just get out of this loop.As I was thinking the footsteps proceeded to get louder and more concentrated and focused on the way to my room. Rushing to lock the door, the handle started to move violently. I started to panic, not knowing what to do. I ran to my closet. My window wasn't an option I was planning to take.
The fall alone from my window would make me to weak to stand, let alone fight. I have to hide.... But where....
Looking around my closet I find a tiny door... I open it just as the being was coming towards the closet. Moving carefully inside I examine my surroundings. Taking a few seconds to get my eyes adjusted to the darkness.
STOMP
The footsteps all of a sudden stopped and my reality was changing once again. The darkness transfixed into something different.
"Kaito, you may not know me, but I will be of use so listen to my words carefully. Don't be rash, think before you act and maybe you'll be able to live." The figure said, I couldn't quite catch a glimpse of them but I knew there were more figures in the room. My only question is, why am I here? What's my purpose? I wish I could have asked them that but the figure continued to speak,
"You don't have much time so I'll cut to the chase, unlike others you will live. By playing your cards right you will be victorious. Only complication is someone powerful is after you. They're looking to be set free, your soul can set them free so we all need you to fight. If you cannot fight any longer kill yourself! Do you understand. I will clarify this to you later when we meet again. My last word of advice, Kaito, don't trust anyone. Not even the people you love, understand?"
"I understand," I couldn't say anymore it was as if I was in a game with only two options,
Live or Die.As my reality came back, I heard no footsteps out the tiny door. I proceeded to walk closer to it before a loud thump hit the door pushing me back onto the ground behind me. I froze on the floor waiting for the door to be broken, but after a minute everything was silent.
BAM
A harder hit to the door was blown. I thought it would have broken down by now but it didn't. Looking around in the dark I tried to find something to help. After a few minutes of searching I found a lighter. Trying to flicker it on, I could finally see what was in the room....
