Her blonde hair was tied back loosely. Fiddling with her fingers, anxiousness filled her being. Forest eyes remained fixed to the floor, her lips and face pale, her body drained from the days of long travel. She tapped her feet to an uneven rhythm on the wooden floors of the train. Lyra Beaumont eagerly awaited to leave the train as it pulled into King's Cross. As soon as the doors pulled open, she shot up from her seat, weaving her way through the crowd of people as she stepped onto the platform.
Almost immediately, the autumn breeze danced through the train station, her hair swaying to the tune of the wind. She wrapped her arms around herself, shielding her famished body from the cold. The worn out dress she wore clung to her figure, her coat providing her with warmth as she sauntered through the station. Her drooped eyes scanned the station rapidly, checking for any signs of danger, before she sat down on a wooden bench, her body immediately relaxing.

It didn't last long, however, as a man came and sat down beside her. Her figure immediately tensed. She assumed he was a muggle until she felt a slight tap at her mind, and she threw up her mental shields, turning her head to face the man fully. Lyra's surprise and anger was evident on her face, as she readied herself for an attack. Instead, the man just shot her a soft smile. He was wearing a long black robe, evidently contrasting his white beard and long hair. There was no wand in his hand, and Lyra thought it safe to assume that he was skilled in wandless and non-verbal magic, based on his feeble attempt at Legilimency. But something told Lyra that he knew who she was, and that the Legilimency was merely a method of proving his assumption.
"Welcome to England, Lyra Beaumont." His voice was euphonious to her, almost like a lullaby, but there was something off about it. A deadly lure. Her face visibly cringed at the mention of her name, her hands curling into fists. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice soft and breathy. "Albus Dumbledore. Transfiguration Professor at Hogwarts." The professor replied. Her eyes widened slightly. Firstly, at his name. Albus Dumbledore was a name she was familiar with, having heard of the infamous professor during her time under Grindelwald's watch. Secondly, the mention of the school. Hogwarts. She'd heard Grindelwald speak of that school many times, speaking about how stupid it's curriculum was for teaching Defense Against The Dark Arts, instead of the Dark Arts itself. Grindelwald relished in the downfall of others around him, and he'd been adamant of having Hogwarts and Albus Dumbledore on the top of his list.

"Is everything okay?" Albus' voice snapped her out of her thoughts, and noticed the way he was eyeing her exhausted figure. The man took in her pale skin and lips, noting the way her shoulders slumped with fatigue. Lyra hummed back a reply, her body unbelievably weak. "What do you want from me?" She asked.

"I would like you to attend Hogwarts."

She let the words register in her mind properly, gaping at the Professor's offer. There were many reasons why she couldn't go to Hogwarts. The most obvious one being: her location would be known to Grindelwald. She shuddered at the thought of being back under his cruel reign again. On the bright side, she thought, it was her chance for a new beginning. A life away from the darkness, a fresh start for her. Lyra contemplated his words, wondering if it was worth the risk of the Dark Wizard finding her.

"I can assure your safety at Hogwarts, Lyra. He will not be able to find you."

So he was well aware of why she was there, and who she was running from. "Why?" Lyra asked, her eyebrow raised slightly. He shrugged, "Your presence at our school will be interesting, to say the least. Life-changing, to be blunt." Her curiosity peaked at his choice of words, "What do you mean by that?" Once again, Dumbledore flashed a smile at her, "All in due time. So, Lyra, what do you say?"

Lyra Beaumont took a deep breath, and the next words she uttered, would unknowingly change the course of her life, as well as the lives of those she'd yet to meet.
