"Come on Liza, we told Kara we'd be there at 9pm and it's already 9:15pm!" My best friend, Liv, screamed at my from the hallway of the flat we shared together. We were going to a club with one of our other friends. It was one of the few occasions that we got a night off together and we wanted to take full advantage of it and have a girls night. We were all med students so it was rare that we got to spend time as a group.
I pulled on my heels and checked myself over in the mirror, admiring the little skin tight black dress I had on that hugged my curves perfectly and showed off my long legs. My hair hung in waves, and the little make up I had on made my green eyes pop. I was happy to say, I felt good! My room around me however, was the opposite of good. Practically my whole wardrobe was lying on my bedroom floor and a half drank bottle of wine was discarded on the nightstand. I shrugged it off and said to myself I'd sort it out tomorrow, but likelihood of that happening with a hangover was next to none.
"I'm ready!" I huffed out as I left my room and saw her stood waiting impatiently as ever. I was always late. They say they hate it but they love it really. They'd be worried if I started arriving to things on time. Liv looked gorgeous as always. He blonde hair was slicked back into a long ponytail with not a single hair our of place. Her make up was flawless, her blue eyes standing out from the dark eye make up she was wearing. A blue dress clung to her body with her boobs almost popping out the top of it. Unlike me, she was blessed in the breast department and I was always jealous of her for it. She smiled when she saw I was ready and linked her arm in mine before dragging me out the flat.

We arrived at the club about 15 minutes later, and I could see Kara stood outside talking to a guy already. She had a cigarette in her hand and was taking long drags of it whilst not really paying any attention to what they guy was saying to her. She was gorgeous as well, but almost the complete opposite of Liv. She work a dark dress with some combat boots and a choker around her neck. Kara was into witchcraft stuff. I didn't mind the crystals and tarot side of it, but I couldn't quite manage to keep on top of the moon cycles and the rituals like she did. Her dark skin glistened like she'd put body glitter on and her hair was in tight curls around her head. I was always so jealous of the pair of them, being blessed with such good looks. I always felt kind of... mediocre stood next to them.
Kara smiled when she saw us climbing out of the taxi and waved to us. Without evening saying goodbye to the guy she ran over to us with a big grin.
"Hey girls! What time do you call this? I've been waiting ages!" She giggled as she raised an eyebrow at me, knowing full well it was me that was running late.
"Okay, okay, enough with the time checks and lets just go have a good night!" I laughed as I linked both their arms in mine and dragged them to the entrance of the club. Kara stubbed her cigarette out before we went in, immediately when we walked through the doors there was a wave of heat and the smell of sweat and alcohol filled my nose. The lights were pumping, the music was blaring and bodies were pulsating. I missed being able to do this all the time in the first year or so of college but I enjoyed it so much more when we only got to do it every so often. Mainly because it made it feel all the more special.
