I sat in the window in my room looking out over the gardens

I sat in the window in my room looking out over the gardens. The early morning sun shone, causing the dew to glisten on the grass. A couple of people were out in the garden, trimming the bushes and mowing the lawn. I wonder what Mason did for a living to have such a gorgeous house, and quite a lot of staff working for him.

Last night was a pretty rough night, I tried to sleep a couple of times but woke up every time in night sweats from nightmares. The blood, it was everywhere. I couldn't get it out my head. In my dream I saw Liv and Kara, surrounded by blood. Either dead or dying. Part of me thought it was more of a memory than a nightmare though. The second one I had I'm pretty sure I woke up screaming, I hope I didn't wake anyone else or disturb anyone.

The room I had at Mason's was huge. There was a large king sized bed with a big puffy cover and lots of pillows. It was so cosy but for some reason I could get comfortable in it. There was a large walk-in wardrobe, it had a few clothes in but nothing extreme. Then there was a vanity against one of the walls that had a few skin care items on it but again nothing extreme. A large flat screen TV hung on the wall opposite the bed, and a large dark oak chest of drawers was below it.

Last night Mason had said that he'd get somebody to go and pick up my belongings so I didn't have to go back to an empty flat. I told him it wasn't necessary but he insisted. How was I supposed to sneak out when all my things were here? How was I supposed to escape when he'd know where I lived? I need to leave sooner rather than later.

I stood up from my spot in the window and wiped the tears that I hadn't realised had fallen. Walking over to the wardrobe to get dressed, I decided there was no time like the present. If I was going to go I should go now before I lost my chance... or changed my mind.

After slipping on some clothes I headed for the door, I had no idea how I was going to get home or anything but I knew I needed to leave now. I gripped the door handle and turned it slowly, trying to be as quiet as possible. It creaked slightly as I pulled it open but when it was fully open my breath caught in my throat.

"Well good morning!" Mason's voice was low and croaky as if he'd not long woken up. He stood in a pair of baseball shorts and trainers with no shirt on. I couldn't stop my eyes from skimming over his toned abs and chiseled chest covered in tattoos... He was... Gorgeous!

"Good morning I was just-"

"Trying to sneak out?" Mason cut me off with a smirk, raising his eyebrow as he did. Shit. How did he know? What was I supposed to say? No? Well that was exactly what I was doing, so instead I just gave him a sheepish smile and looked down at the floor.

"Honestly, yes. I want to thank you for everything you've done for me but I really must go home. I don't want to be in the way or anything and you're clearly a busy man. Thank you again, but I would really like to go home now." Mason let out a deep breath and looked down at the floor.

"I'm sorry, I know you do. But I have to make sure you're safe, I don't know why but I just... I need to know you're safe okay? I'm doing this for you, and I hope that you will never have to see why but I hope you can understand." Mason was now looking at me, and I raised my head to look at him too. I tried to read his eyes, read if he was being honest and I couldn't help but believe him. For the first time since meeting him I could read him properly. His eyes told me he was being completely honest. They were big and dark and trusting. I sighed and nodded my head to staying here a little longer.
"I will have someone go and pick up your belonging later on today, before then... Would you like some coffee?" I nodded my head and watched as he began to make his way down the wide hallway. I followed after him, feeling a little nervous being left alone in such a large dark house. It was beautiful, but... slightly creepy. The dark oak make everything that much darker, it needed more... light. It must have only been about 5am so all the drapes deep red drapes were still closed not allowing any daylight in. Why was he up so early?

We made our way down the large staircase at the end of the hallway and then through the hallway on the left hand side of the staircase to the back of the house where the kitchen was. The kitchen had large windows looking out over the garden, letting in lots of morning light, on the same side of the house as my room. I took a seat at the large wooden island in the middle of the room whilst Mason walked over to the coffee pot to pour us both a mug. I admired his back muscles as they flexed when he moved, before he turned round to bring me the coffee. I quickly averted my eyes down to the worktop but I feel like he'd already caught me looking.

How was I supposed to live in this house? With such a gorgeous man? I could feel trouble brewing already.
