"Not fast enough, we're too late to save them," your heart raced in your chest. You couldn't save them, you were too late. These two would become the first deaths you would witness as a jujutsu sorcerer. Eventually, this would happen at some point, but you never expected that it would be so early on in your schooling.

The shattering of glass snapped you out of your panicked daze. You instinctively lifted up your arm to shield your face from the stray pieces of glass that sliced through the air. Once you felt like it was safe to take a peek, you removed your arm to see...

"Itadori?!" How the hell did he even get up to the fourth floor? Let alone, through the outside window. Well, no matter. The young man pulled his two club members away from the curse, setting them down only when he was a safe distance away. As he began to contemplate what he was seeing, Fushiguro wasted no time dealing with the curse who was stuck asking what time it was. You aided him by leaving a strike of your own with your dagger, feeling yourself relax.

"Normally I'd be pissed, but good job." The curse slumped to the ground behind you with a loud thud. The ground rattled a little bit, but Fushiguro didn't falter as he addressed Itadori.

"Why're you acting all high-and-mighty?" Itadori's attention was quickly snatched away by Fushiguro's divine dogs, to both of your surprises. "What are those things eating the curse?"

"They're my Shikigami. You can see them?"

"Normally people can't see them unless they are face to face with death," you explained, gesturing towards the half-eaten curse corpse. "Is that right Fushiguro?"

Your classmate nodded. "You left out that special places, such as schools and hospitals can also cause people to see them."

"I just didn't feel like taking all of the spotlight," you hummed with a grin on your face. You nudged Fushiguro with your elbow to show that you were merely teasing him, to which he rolled his green eyes at your childish jests. "Anyways, I'm going to check around to make sure there's nothing to be more concerned about, yeah? Keep each other safe, I'll be back. Oh, and good job Itadori," you patted his shoulder with a grin on your face. Fushiguro tried to convince you to stay put, but you weren't listening. You heard his voice echo in the halls as you walked away.

It was quiet throughout the rest of the school, and since you and Fushiguro walked through the other levels of the school, you figured it would be best to keep going upwards. You hummed to yourself as you walked, stopping when you heard weird sounds on the floor. To you, it sounded like scratching, creaking, and shattering at the same time. You neared the sound and what you saw was horrifying. A curse, gigantic, was breaking through the floor to get to the lower levels.

"Shit," you cursed and used your technique to create a cursed puppet to take your place while you 'teleported,' back to Fushiguro and Itadori. You were lucky that they were still in range. "Up above!!" Your warning rang through the air as the curse's hand could be seen warping the ceiling. Panic flashed in your classmate's eyes before he reacted quickly by pushing you and Itdaori away. You felt one of his divine dogs snag the back of your uniform and drag you out of danger.

"Run!"

"Fushiguro!" You were quick to jump back to your feet, but his shikigami prevented you from going over to help him. It nipped at the back of your pants and moved to stand in front of you when you still tried to go help him. Itadori didn't run away, neither did you, both standing your ground and waiting for the dust to clear. The sounds were horrible, you could hear the green-eyed boy grunting and struggling and the curse was making horrible, skin-crawling screeches.

When the dust settled, you felt your heart drop. The cruse had Fushiguro in its grasp, and it didn't want to let go. "Come on, let me go help him," you hissed through your teeth to the shikigami. The dog seemed to think for a moment before backing away, getting your message, but as soon as you went running, the curse threw Fushiguro through the wall.
