|Elena's Point of View|

I looked at him in sheer confusion, I knew Jazmyn would have to reveal my location sooner rather than later but the person sat beside me was not the person I'd thought would jump on a plane to my rescue. Ha, rescue? I don't think there would be any escaping the situation right now but not being alone in Italy provided me with some morsel of comfort.

"Jayden?" Jake questioned, his shoulders visibly dropping, maybe from relief or perhaps confusion. I wasn't entirely sure but if it stopped him from coming to Italy then I'd happily spend the next week in Italy with Jayden.

"Yes, don't worry, I will keep an eye on her." Jayden responded, his face remained unmoved by Jake's evident distress. It was strange, Jayden's words resonated with protection but he seemed so uninterested in my presence.

"Where are you?" Elliot was quick to interrupt him, neither of them replying to his statement.

"I can take care of myself you know." I pouted, I understand the situation right now was one to raise alarm bells but the whole point I left so abruptly was to keep them off of my trail. I have no idea what is going on and what world I have involved myself in but having them around me was only going to draw more attention to me.

"It's complicated, do you think running away is going to keep you safe?" Jake scowled, his eyebrows furrowing together almost questioning how stupid I really were.

"We're in Italy." Jayden butted in, I instantaneously glared at him, my hand whacking him in the shoulder owing to his sudden betrayal. I watched him roll his eyes at my childish attack. "You're not safe alone here," he directed towards me.

"Well, you're here aren't you? Why follow me here if you're not planning on helping me?" I retorted before taking a bite out of my blueberry muffin, it wasn't as tasty as when I was sat alone enjoying my own company. Jayden was becoming more and more unimpressed with me by the second and I was beginning to take offence, how dare he act like I forced him into sitting on a damn plane and accompanying me.

"I wouldn't need to follow you if you'd just stay in one place, now would I?" He grinned sarcastically, a glimmer of amusement flickering in his hazel eyes, he was enjoying annoying me.

"I don't recall looking for a stalker."

"Oh, it wasn't you who put that ad on Craig's list? My bad." He slouched before casually taking a sip of my drink, he smiled deviously after placing it back down, daring me to say something.

"You've got bigger stalkers than him to deal with Elena," Elliot raged, I had almost forgotten they were still on the Skype call and could see us bickering immaturely.

"Do you think I want stalkers? This is not my choice so stop acting as if I signed up for this, like I'm supposed to know any better because newsflash Elliot. You both signed me up for this, dad and mum got me into this mess and you want to point fingers at me for trying to save myself?" I could feel the anger brewing, I heard Jayden mutter something about getting a drink amongst my rant and acknowledged him walking away before continuing. "I do not want any of this, I could have been killed the other day and you want to tell me off for it. You are not my dad! Heck, I don't even know if I even buried my dad that day. I don't know anything anymore..." I felt my anger slowly disbanding into a peculiar sadness, the tears brimming my eyes. There were so many unanswered questions and who knew if I would find any of the answers in this small café.

"Elena," Elliot started, his anger had evidently faded too and he looked almost defeated at my sudden tirade.

"We'll be in Italy tonight, make sure Jayden's with you at all times okay?" Jake concluded before the call became too tense and emotional for me in the middle of a café, I had almost forgotten I was surrounded by strangers. At least, there was a slim chance they understood what that argument was about.
