| Jake's Point Of View |

I walked around the mall calculatedly, my feet colliding against the marble floor of the exquisite mall - Charlotte's voice continuously droned on in the background as I walked alongside Gabriel, my eyes scanning the several jewellery stores in search of a faultless ring. Several cheery faces ambled pass and the jittery voice of ecstatic teens lingered in the air along with the tantalizing heat of the sun.

"Ooh let's go over there!" Charlotte's high pitch squeal beckoned, her skinny arm clutching onto Gabriel and pulling him into the distance, consequently his muscular arm pulled me into the direction of an ecstatic Charlotte. I scanned the shop cautiously, the elaborate writing scrawled upon the fancy, towering door "Sans Faille Bijouterie." I trailed into the store enquiringly whilst trying to ignore the several stares I was receiving, the diamond encrusted jewels glistened under the dim light and the red velvet walls glittered beneath the luxurious aura that radiated from the shop.

"You get distracted far too easily, look over there!" Charlotte commanded and began to push me towards a glass display; I automatically rolled my eyes at her statement. She had been overly bossy and hadn't found a ring since she'd been here, we'd been here for what seemed like an eternity which was far longer than I had even expected but I vaguely remember her rattling on about perfection and a few other important features of a ring.

I stood in front of the lucid glass; my eyes scrutinizing the petite pieces of jewellery for what seemed to be the hundredth time in the day, none of them caught my attention they all seemed to sparkle softly and mirror the charms that were strewn around it.

"Why can't you just pick one and buy it?" I heard Gabriel groan, his irritated voice scowled from beside me as he pointed to a small piece of jewellery. "Buy that one!" He complained pointing towards a ruby encrusted item and jabbing me in the stomach with his elbow.

"You're an idiot." I laughed at his idiotic claim, "that's a bracelet." I smirked acknowledging the very small, palladium plated bracelet.

"It looked like a ring from here," he shrugged before shaking his head feverishly. "If it fits on her finger does it really matter whether it's a ring or a bracelet?" Gabriel questioned in his identifiable unintelligent tone. He was far from dim-witted, he just had a dumb nature nevertheless when it came down to it he knew what he was doing and he was far smarter than half the people I knew and I know a lot of people.

"Can I help you?" A sultry voice questioned, her tone laced with a slight accent and I instinctively followed the trail of the sound.

"No thanks," I huffed briefly greeting the blonde haired assistant. "What do you think of that?" I asked Gabriel pointing towards a small ring, it wasn't great and to be honest I don't even know why I pointed it out.

"That's a toe ring sir," the same assistant answered and interrupted our blooming conversation.

"Who wears a ring on their toe?" Gabriel pulled a worried face that mirrored my thoughts, why do people even wear rings on their toes. I can understand an anklet but a toe ring?

"Don't ask me man," I chuckled amused before a shrill scream echoed throughout the small store, my hand reaching for the handle of my gun before I swiftly turned my head to see a squealing Charlotte, minute fear pulsating through my veins at the thought of danger.

"You have to see this Jake!" She called, my heart beat stopping temporarily at the false alarm. Girls, I'll never understand them. Charlotte stood beside a tiny glass cabinet in awe, one hand stereotypically over her heart and the other covering her mouth. I walked guardedly towards her and noticed the tears filling her eyes in happiness. Me and Gabriel simply shared confused glances as we neared the glass. "This is perfect." She muttered for the first time, I followed her gaze and a satisfied grin pulled onto my features.

"I'll buy it." I declared at the same time as examining the ring. It was a gold plated ring that was drowned in silver and twisted into a twirling shape; it was fluid yet geometric and blended traditional and modern forms. There was a glistening diamond sandwiched between two turquoise zircon crystals. It was the only ring I'd seen that seemed to glitter and shine beneath the dim lights, the washed out colours brightening the case and bringing an overwhelming smile to my face.

"Elena wouldn't want you to spend that much." Charlotte sighed. "We should probably look somewhere else." My visage contorted in dissatisfaction at her crude statement.

"What she doesn't know won't hurt her." I smiled. "I'd like to buy this ring." I grinned towards the blonde woman, her blue eyes scanning me unreservedly.

"This isn't the kind of ring you'd buy your mother." She commented amused at my claim.

"Who said it was for my mother? This is for my fiancé!" I sneered and watched her visibly shrink, a rosy tint brushing across her cheeks. Women these days, always jumping to conclusions.

Elena didn't know what to say after her daunting conversation, everything she learnt had seemed like a fountain of pure slander and dishonesty. Every word he said sounded so sincere yet she couldn't bring herself to believe everything he stated, instead she walked down the path to her house lost in sheer thought after he dropped her home in his expensive Ferrari.

Elena admired the everlasting scenery; pink roses lined the pathway as the freshly doused grass was newly cut. The sun was beaming down as birds effortlessly sang their songs. She took a seat on the edge of the fountain. Elena lightly dipped her manicured nails into the clear water leaving ripples as her fingers trailed away.

"Lena! We have a problem," Elliot's voice boomed throughout the once peaceful atmosphere, his bulky footsteps echoing through the still atmosphere and breaking all thoughts that once loomed throughout the ambience.

"What's wrong?" Elena pouted in confusion, her eyebrows furrowing together as she watched her brother paraded towards her - his clothes were slightly scruffy and his hair was dishevelled from where he had continuously ran his hands through his hair. The mood immediately tensed at his accusations and the blistering sun coincidentally dimmed.

"Mum's gone missing."
