Agape, Grandpa, and title of "Top Skater of the World" all within my senior debut. I set the bar high for next year's season, higher than Victor has ever set. However, the piggy was extremely close to beating me. I can't let him get any closer. I've earned my title and I'm defend-.
"Oh, Yuri! Maybe you should get out of your head and come see this!" Mila yelled at me.
"Huh?" I stopped skating and looked at her. She was to get my attention, Lilia and Yakov right beside her. I took my earbuds out of my ears and skated over. "What now? You know I don't like to be bothered while I'm zoned in on the ice."
"Hush young one. You may have won the Grand Prix Final but it doesn't give you the right to speak to us in that tone," Lilia said while glaring at me.
"Lilia is right. Your career only gets harder from here, especially since Victor is coming back. Before he returns to Russia to train for next season, he just informed me he's going to America on a wild goose chase." Yakov show me the messages on his phone he received from Victor.
"I see he's taking the piggy with him as well. What's even in America that he would take Yuri with him? That piggy doesn't need any more training."
Mila chuckled a bit. "You have a lot to learn."
"We're going to America with him," Lilia said while holding up the plane tickets.
"Net. I'm not going anywhere unless it's for competition. Those two can chase the goose on their own."
Yakov put his hat on and smirked. "You are more stubborn than Victor. If the goose Victor is chasing the one I think it is then this trip will benefit you." He looks over at Mila. "When was the last time you spoke with him?"
Scrolling through her text messages she responded, "When I dumped his friend."
"Dumped his friend? You know who this person is??" Everything thing became confusing and borderline annoying.
"Pack your bags after practice. We leave at dawn. And make sure to pack your skates," Lilia said with another glare.
"Why is this ved'ma coming with us?" Lilia and Yakov walked away, leaving me frustrated. We practically just returned from the finals a few days ago and now I have to leave for another country. We better not be close to the Canadian border. I can stand to see J.J.'s face outside of competition.
"Cheer up, Yuri. Don't look so bitch faced," Mila said while messing up my hair. I slapped her hand away and continued practicing.
Later that night, Grandpa stopped by to drop off some piroshkis while I was packing. Not only did he make me his traditional one, but he also made pork cutlet bowl ones as well. By the time the sun peaked through the horizon, Yakov, Lilia, and I were on our flight to America. What is so important in America that we have to fly there? Why is Victor bringing Yuri with him? Nothing about this is making sense. I've already won and proved that I'm the best. I don't need to learn any more than I have.
After a long, dreading flight, we landed in America. The whole flight, Lilia and Yakov kept fighting about their past. Those two act more like children than I do. We waited inside the airport for our luggage to be unloaded from the plane. While waiting, Victor and Yuri walked up to us.
"Yurio! Yakov! What a surprise to see you! Have you decided to follow me to find out all my secrets?" Victor said with his traditional cheering face.
Yakov shook his hand. "We've come to see what exactly you're up to. Plus we can get a head start on your training for next season. Lilia even took more time out of her busy schedule to train Yuri this season, and to get you back in the swing of things."
