The two boys sat giggling in the middle of Jake's bedroom carpet, messing around like they always did. Their empty pizza boxes discarded to the side. They'd spent the past few hours playing video games, and watching random YouTube video's. They were currently watching some highlight clips of I've got the gossip's Valentines streams. Of course they avoided anything about Sunoo, focusing on the other dramas, to get Sunoo's mind off his own.

"No, no, no, don't do it, she's gonna reject you." Jake winced, watching through his hands. He could sense the impending rejection.

Sunoo had to look away from the screen, gritting his teeth from all the second hand embarrassment. "She obviously likes Karina, ahh, please tell me he chickens out."

"I- I want to go out with you."

"Noooo!" Both boys scream. Jake slams his laptop closed in panic, not having the strength to watch his classmate get rejected.

"That's it, enough of that for tonight." He stated, hearing the sound of his door unlocking downstairs. "Mum must be home."

"Jake! Can you come help me a sec?!" His mum shouted.

Jake jumped up from the floor, looking far from pleased. "Ugh I might be gone for a while. She bought a new bookshelf from IKEA the other day, and I think she's gonna ask me to build it with her. Who does she think I am, handy Manny?"

"Stop being dramatic; go help her already." Sunoo chuckled, watching Jake trudge to the door.

"Yeah yeah, don't act like you wouldn't be complaining. I've seen skeletons with more muscle than you." Jake snapped, garnering a playful gasp from his friend. He pulled open his bedroom door, immediately letting out a horrendous shriek. "Fuck! Why are you at my house?!"

Sunoo jumped at the loud shriek, darting his eyes to the person standing in front of Jake. The blonde had an expression of mild offense, mouth hanging slightly open, he was definitely taken off guard.

"Thanks for the warm welcome." Sunghoon said, sarcasm lacing his voice. He stepped past Jake into his bedroom. "I thought I'd swing by after practice, but I wasn't expecting to be screamed at. You should go help your mum already, last thing I saw, she had the instructions upside down."

"Oh she's useless with that stuff." Jake groaned, rushing out of the room, before his mum could mess up the bookshelf.

The remaining boys now made eye contact, Sunghoon's bright smile returning to his face. He walked over to Sunoo, sitting down beside him, and leaning his back against Jake's bed frame.

"How was practice?"

"Not too bad. Things are getting more serious since we have a game next week, but considering I'll have you to cheer me on, I'm not worried."

"I haven't even tried out yet, who know's if I'll be there."

Speaking of try out's, Sunoo's was actually scheduled for tomorrow. Wonyoung was jet set on him trying out, even though Jungwon wasn't fond of the idea at all. Honestly, Sunoo wasn't either. He was forced into doing it, succumbing to the pressure of the popular kids. They seemed nice now, but that could all change if he doesn't do what they want him to.

He didn't want to think about that right now. "Did you get a chance to talk to Heeseung?"

The blonde nodded. "He said he doesn't know anything about the gesture."

"And you don't think he's lying do you?"

"Stop digging for more. We've confirmed it's not him; drop it now." Sunghoon's tone was stern, striking Sunoo as slightly defensive. He didn't understand why he was getting so agitated.

"Okay, sorry." He muttered in surrender.

Sunghoon seemed conflicted, sighing as he looked away. "No I'm sorry. I just don't want you thinking it's Heeseung, because he's not the right guy for you."

"Not the right guy for me." Sunoo scoffed, side eyeing the blonde. "Like you'd know that."

"I do actually." Sunghoon smirked, his gaze falling on Sunoo. "I know everything."

"Mmm sure."

A silence fell on them, contacting in a way that didn't require speech. Captured by those warm brown eyes, the light cast over, creating a shimmering amber hue. They were comforting, and familiar, holding inside years worth of memories . He found some strange solace, at ease from all of the worries that clouded his mind.

Breaking the silence, Sunghoon cleared his throat. "So, want to watch a drama?"

____

"It's still early." Jake glanced to his watch, it was only 10 to 9.

He hadn't been gone that long, but his friends were already asleep. He walked over to his bed, smiling at the sweet display before him. The two boys were cuddled under the covers, Sunoo's head buried in the crook of Sunghoon's neck, the blonde's arm resting over his back.

"Cute." He mumbled, attention turning to his laptop which was laying on top of the two. The drama they had been watching was still playing, so he switched it off, and placed his laptop on his desk.

He grabbed a blanket from his closet, slumping down at the end of his bed. He decided to browse Instagram, since he wasn't tired in the slightest. He mindlessly swiped down his feed, until he spotted Lee Heeseung's most recent post. It wasn't anything special, only the boy at tonight's football practice, but intuition was telling him to click on his account.

He scrolled for maybe a couple of minutes, not sure of what he was looking for. There was a lot of pictures of Heeseung at practice, or out with friends. Nothing that stood out to him. Until a post of the boys desk fell in front of Jake's eyes. It was a photo from when he was studying a few weeks ago, but what caught Jake's attention was the notebook poking into the top right hand corner of the frame.

Just above a messy scribble of math equations, was a phone number. One that Jake had definitely seen before. He was sure he had called that number, but he hadn't a clue of who's number it was. He swiped off of Instagram, going straight into his contacts. He typed in each number, seeing a call log pop up on screen.

Had he actually found something useful?
