"Welcome back I've got the gossip viewers! I hope everyone's excited over our re-branding, and if you're not, you don't need to say. I'm still watching you all, so i'll know... Anyhoo, we're here reporting live from Upper Side Academy's football pitch, to you know, talk about sp- sp- sp- sports. Yes sports. Specifically, the football match taking place between our school and Crown Prep. If you're not able to make it out today, don't worry, we've got you covered..."
Standing on the side of the pitch, microphone in hand, Jiwon tried her best to stick to her promise of changing I've got the gossip forever. Though, you could clearly see the pain in her eyes, this was really going to take some getting used to.
"I never thought I'd see the day Jiwon reports on sports." Jake's surprise carried over to Sunoo, who silently agreed with that comment.
The two boys kept a good distance from the pitch, watching the whole game from a far. Sunoo was still unsure of his reason for coming here. Was he going to confess? Is that even what he wanted to do? For now, he tried to remain calm, and take baby steps. He came to the game, that was a good start.
"Shouldn't you be out there with them?" Jake nudged, playfully referring to the cheerleaders.
Sunoo winced a little, and had to look away. "Ah gosh, I'm gonna have to deal with them, aren't I? How do you think me quitting after one day will go down?"
"I'm actually not sure."
His little stint with the cheerleaders definitely boosted Sunoo's confidence, and showed him that he shouldn't be afraid to try new things. It wasn't the most horrible experience, it just wasn't for him.
"Wonyoung's probably going to throw a fit."
"You mean like that?"
"Huh?" Sunoo furrowed his brows, and snapped his head in the direction of Jake's gaze. "Oh no."
"Sunoo!!!! Where have you been?!!! I missed you!!!" Wonyoung whined, running over, pompom's in hand. She threw her arms around Sunoo, squeezing him so tight he couldn't breath. "This is our first game with you on the squad!!! You have to join us!!"
She finally let go, and Sunoo could breath again. The girls pout turned into a bright smile, eyes suddenly lighting up, she linked her arms with him.
"Come on! The game only just started!"
"Wonyoung-" He attempted to protest, as he was being dragged towards the pitch.
"It's gonna be great! I'll teach you all the cheers!"
After everything he went through, Sunoo knew that this was not what he wanted. He couldn't keep letting himself get walked over.
"No Wonyoung!" He stated in a stern tone, un-linking their arms.
Wonyoung spun around in confusion, which obviously sent Sunoo into a panic, but he had to stay strong.
He took in a deep breath. "I really appreciate you caring about me, but you can't keep expecting me to do everything you want. You can't tell me who to hang around with, what to do, or where I should go. I like you Wonyoung, and I want to be your friend, so could we just try this all a bit differently?" He hesitantly reached out his hand.
A few seconds pass, but Wonyoung drops her pompoms and takes his hand. "I'm sorry Sunoo, I didn't realize how overbearing I had been. Of course we can try this again."
"Great, uh, so I'm gonna stay here." He said awkwardly, the first test of seeing how Wonyoung reacts.
"Oh okay! That's fine! I'll come see you later!" She replied happily, crouching down to pick her pompoms off the floor. As she stands up again, she locks eyes with the brunette behind him. "Who's your friend?"
