Rafael and Valentina had worked hard these past three weeks. He would come by every day to train, plan and share information. He was still rude in Valentina's eyes but he had been nicer to her. She told him she wanted to go to Spain and that she wanted to know if her grandparents still lived where she thought they would. Sure enough, they never moved. She told him to only give a little bit of cash, she could stay with them. He secured the plane and the car for her escape.
The biggest mistake Elijah ever made was giving Valentina education, was what she thought. Because of Biology classes, she figured out a serum that would make him pass out for a few hours with just a little stab. Rafael and Valentina decided to dip a pen in it and she would act as if she was writing. He would drop on the floor in seconds, then giving her enough time to escape.
Valentina was slightly nervous but she felt strong. Those self defence classes really did help and she felt more confident now that she knew how to defend herself a bit more. Elijah would come home tonight and this was her last day here. She spent some extra time with the workers, constantly promising them that one day she would free them. Rafael had called the house phone to tell her everything was ready for her escape and she thanked him again.
She went into her room right after lunch to pack her last things. She stuffed her parents' picture securely in her bag. She went into her closet to grab some essential clothing. Then into her bathroom to grab essential products. She looked into her drawers and found her passport. She would need to show it to the guards of Rafael's jet. Rafael had given her the passport, his guards would know to let her in he said.
While Valentina was getting ready, Rafael was restless while at work. He had a busy schedule but he was still thinking about the escape. He had confidence that it would work but he was still worried. He knew what kind of man his father was. You never know with him. His mother had figured out what was going on and demanded to him to let her know if everything worked out. His mother held sympathy and understanding for the girl. He knew that which is why he promised to let her know how everything went.
Valentina packed the last thing when she heard a knock on her door. She stuffed the last things in her bag before hiding it away under her bed.
"Who is it?" she called out.
"Sarah." came the woman's voice.
"Come in." Valentina said with a breath of relief.
"I have a go-away gift." the woman said before handing over a little box.
Valentina carefully took it in her hands before opening it. She gasped once she saw a beautiful necklace. But not just any, it was a necklace from Garcìa Jewellery.
"H-how did you get this?" Valentina asked Sarah with tears in her eyes.
"I found it the night you arrived. It was in you jacket, I think your parents may have put it there when they left you that night." Sarah explained while taking Valentina into a hug.
"Thank you for everything, Sarah." Valentina said sincerely.
"Anytime." the woman responded before they heard the front door open. "It's time. Take care."
"I will." was all Valentina said as Sarah left her room.
Valentina set everything out on her desk, ready for the escape plan. She could hear Elijah's footsteps as he made his way up to her room. She acted as though she was writing down in a notebook while she was really just waiting to set the plan in motion.
"I'm home, bitch." he said from the doorway.
Valentina took deep breaths before turning his way. He looked no different from three weeks ago. If anything, he looked more stressed. He slowly made his way over to her. She knew she could stab him right now, but he needed to believe he had the upper hand here.
"I hope you're ready for another night of talking or no talking and beating." he said with a sinister smile.
He didn't wait for her answer as he gripped her up from her chair. She gripped the pen firmly in her hand, refusing to let it go. He came closer to her face with confidence and she knew this was the right moment to strike. She tightened her grip on the pen before stabbing his stomach with all her might. He stumbled back a bit and let her go. He looked down at the pen in his stomach. He was about to laugh at her effort when he realised it wasn't just a pen.
"You bitch!" he yelled at her as he fell onto the floor.
Valentina wasted no time in grabbing her duffel bag and putting on her coat. She secured the necklace around her neck before dashing out of the bedroom. She ran down the stairs and to the front door. She ran out before fishing the keys out of her jacket and opening the car. She got in and threw the bag on the passenger seat. She started the car and raced out of the driveway. She clicked on the gps to see Rafael already set in the address to the plane. She smiled while looking into her rearview mirror. She saw the house disappear into the distance as she drove. She was lucky that Gary, a guard at the house, taught her enough to secretly get her drivers license. She quite liked driving but because of her situation she couldn't do that too much. But she was so relieved in this moment, it didn't matter. She was going to Spain with a fucking private jet. She was going to see her grandparents again. She was going to be free once again. Free of that jackass who calls himself Elijah.
