Squirrelstar felt horrible pain sear through her. "Oh, make it stop!" She shrieked, her belly churning as Jayfeather felt it. You can do this, Squirrelstar, Bittersweet memories flickered through her, a dark brown tabby with amber eyes, Bramblestar. "Push, Squirrelstar!" Jayfeather hissed. Squirrelstar pushed as hard, a rush of pain searing through her as a tiny bundle of fur slithered around her, Jayfeather picked it up gently in his jaws and dropped it, nipping the sac and licking its pelt. "A she-cat," He murmured, another agonizing pain swept across her. I'm with you, Squirrelstar, push now. Squirrelstar pushed even harder this time, another kit scent filling her mouth, Jayfeather slid the kit over to an elder, Cloudtail, who volunteered to help, he nipped the sac and licked its pelt. "A tom." Squirrelstar pushed two more kits and they slithered out, both Jayfeather and Cloudtail worked as licking them, "A tom, and a she-cat." Jayfeather purred, "Is this all?" She rasped.

"Yes," Jayfeather meowed. She hadn't felt her kits mewling and suckling eagerly at her side. Squirrelstar craned her neck to see them, the firstborn was a flame-colored she-kit, like Firestar, Her name will be Sparkkit, just by her personality I see now. Love fluttered inside her for the ginger she-kit, the secondborn was a dark brown tabby tom with a white underbelly, Juniperkit, he looks like juniper branches. She thought, love the same for the dark tabby. Next was a dark ginger tom with a white-tipped tail, Alderkit, he looks like the inside of an alder tree. Love, just love for her kits. Lastborn was a pale ginger she-kit, Sandkit, she looks exactly like Sandstorm.

Cloudtail gazed at the four kits warmly, "The pale ginger kit reminds me of dandelions." He remarked, hm, Dandelionkit, that's a lovely name. Jayfeather blinked at the dark tabby. "Are you going to name any of them after Firestar?" Squirrelstar shook her head. "No, they'll be their own cats, not shadows of their kin." She decided. "I will name the ginger she-kit, Sparkkit, the dark tabby tom Juniperkit, the dark ginger kit, Alderkit, and the lastborn, Dandelionkit."

Well done, Bramblestar murmured, Thank you, Bramblestar... Tiredness flooded through her. Jayfeather flicked his tail, "We'll give you time to rest," he mewed, "Anything we can get you?" the silver tabby asked. "I'll take some water," she meowed huskily. Squirrelstar guessed their warrior names on the wait, Sparkheart, in honor of Firestar, Juniperberry, just for the berries thriving on their vine of the juniper branches, Alderclaw, for Bramblestar, and Dandelionsand, in honor of my mother, Sandstorm. She thought.

Squirrelstar lapped at the water-soaked moss, everything hurt, from nose to tail-tip. It'll get better once the kits are a few moons old.
