"Come back you little bitch!" i heard a voice after me but i didn't turn around, i couldn't.
I continued to run through the dark forest, jumping over fell branches and bushes, trying to get as far from my once called home.
"I think i saw him going that way, let's go!" a voice of my dad's right hand, or however he called him, said and i heard them going the other way.
I didn't stop running for another few minutes, i just want to get away from here.
Just when i slowed down and looked around i noticed that i'm in the forest in the middle of the night. A dark, scary forest.
I tried to find something where i could go but there was just a lot of trees so i decided to just walk in one direction and hope i'll find something where i could stay.
"Maybe it's not too late to go back?" i asked myself as i turned around. Mistake.
In front of me stood a big wolf growling loudly and showing his big teeth.
I don't think this is one of those stories where a lost kid finds a best friend wolf and they live happily like a family so with that realisation i turned around and started to run as fast as i could.
More bushes and branches came my way as i jumped over them. I could hear the wolf coming closer as panic washed over me.
I tried to jump over a fallen tree but i ended up tripping and falling with the beast on top of me, that was untill i heard a loud bang and it fell next to me with a short whine that quickly died down.
"Are you okay?" i heard a voice on my right side and i quickly turned around and saw a young man standing there with a gun in his hand.
"Yes thank you." i stood up only to fall down again at the pain in my leg.
"Come on boy, come with me i live not too far from here you can rest there." he said and seeing i don't have much option i took his waiting hand and he helped me up.
"What's your name boy and how old are you?" the man asked and i sighed before answering.
"My name's Louis, sir. I'm 17." i mumbled quietly. I was used to being treated like a lower level in society so i didn't get my hopes up at the man's kindness.
He let out a loud laugh surprising me and making me flinch slightly.
"Don't give me that 'sir' shit. I'm a human just like you." i smiled a bit at his words still not fully believing him but i could take advantage of the situation.
"Okay this is my house, let's get you in." he said and opened the doors of a small house. He put me on a bed and i looked around. Everything looked so old fashioned but still modern in some weird kind of way. There was a small kitchen even tho i was expecting just a cauldron over a fire and his bed was really comfortable.
"Let me see your leg." i pulled up my pants and i saw him making a face at it.
"It looks broken or badly twisted. I will put something on it for now but we're going to the hospital as soon as you rest." i looked at my swollen ankle and watched as he put on some gel, some leaves and wrapped it up with a weird white thing.
"What's that?" i asked pointing to the white material in his hand.
"You never saw a bandage before?" he asked and i blushed feeling embarrassed.
"I-i know what a bandage is, but w-where i'm from we always had to use leaves and some more things to make a bandage." i mumbled and he gave me a confused look before standing up telling me to sleep for a while.
