chapter 3-🥀

It's been weeks ever since their argument. Jake tried his best to avoid Sunghoon, he doesn't even know if their relationship has already ended. It was up to Sunghoon. All he knows that Sunghoon is still in love with Diana.

Jake focused on his studies. He never talked to Jungwon or the others. He spent weeks alone at school, and stayed at his foster parents house. Okay so, His real parents abandoned him when he was still an infant. An Australian-Korean couple found him crying on the streets. Now he currently has two parents who actually cares about him.

His parents are rich, but they sometimes struggle in their company because of Jake's Leukemia surgery. (Surprise! A simple plot) Jake has been suffering for months. He found out he had cancer when he was in a relationship Sunghoon, no one knew except for his foster parents.

"Jake honey! Wake uppp, it's time for school." His mother smiled brighter than the sun. Jake stretched before getting up, he followed his mom downstairs and ate his breakfast.

"Jake..are you okay? You aren't active nor loud anymore. Is there anything you're struggling with? You can tell us what's happening." His f.father rubbed his back to comfort him. "Nothing,really."

"Liar, It's so obvious. Just tell us." His f.mother replied.

"Okay, It's everything I'm suffering with. I'm sorry, I don't want both of you paying for my surgeries and stuff, all those hard work and in result, I would definitely die. And Sunghoon, I-I can't forget him. I think of him so much, it's getting annoying." His lips trembled as he talked.

"Excuse me? You won't die Jake! Don't say stupid stuff! And about Sunghoon, I will make sure he gets his heart broken as well, for revenge. I hate seeing my son getting played with!" His f.mother shouted in response.

"Stay safe, I love you my dear. Don't do anything that'll make us worry. " Both parents hugged him before leaving for school. He bid them goodbye in response, he took the bus on his way.

When he arrived school, first thing he noticed was Sunghoon talking to Diana.

Are they back together or what?

He rolled his eyes, unbothered. In this day, he felt weak and tired, his skin never became this pale or yellowish and his cheeks weren't red. His body aches whenever he moves, his heart hurts the most.

He walked slowly to his class, it was still empty. The teacher wasn't there yet, he was all alone. He sat down in his seat, scrolling through his social feeds. Not until an unknown number called him.

Caller: hello, is this Jake?

Jake: Yes, is this Dr. Jennie?

Caller: Mhm, May i remind that your surgery is 4 pm, today?

Jake: Okay! I'll tell mom and dad.

Caller: Of course, anyways, do you have body ache? pale skin? does your heart hurt?

Jake: I have all of those, how did you knoww!?

Caller: Y-You do? I'm sorry to say, there will be....(pause)......03% of chance you'll survive during the surgery. You will have a hard time breathing, and your limbs would get weaker everyday unless you get treatment.

Jake: I'll be fine Doctor, I promise.

Caller: Okay, see you later.

She hung up the call. Jake continued to scroll in his social feeds, as if he didn't care.

When school was finished, he heard millions of gossips all around. Some can't be heard. But he heard 1 of them saying that Sunghoon's courting Diana to get her back. He didn't care, he wasn't even loved in his "relationship". Everything was fake, and he fell for it. He though Sunghoon confessed because he loved him, but it was all untrue. In his heart, there might be no space for Sunghoon anymore. But Jake knows that himself, still loves him.

"Jake-hyung!" Jungwon called, approaching him with the rest behind. Jake noticed Jungwon first, and Sunghoon after. He tried his best to avoid his gaze, and paid attention to what Jungwon was saying.

"It has been weeks the last time you talked to us. I was wondering if you could join us at your favorite café, where you met Sunghoon?" Jungwon whispered.

Does he even know anything about our arguement? Or at least the gossips?

He thought before replying. "I'm sorry, I have to do something that's worth."

Jungwon and the rest sighed in-sync. Jake pursed his lips and hugged them. "What's this hug for?" Sunoo asked, yet he hugged back. "W-Well because I couldn't hang out with you?" Jake pulled out. He hugged everyone except Sunghoon, who didn't care at all.

"Any changes with you guys?" Jake asked before he'd leave.

"Erm...the 4 of us are in a relationship!" Jay replied.

"Excuse me!? Who's with who?" Jake asked, his mouth open wide. Both Sunoo and Ni-ki glanced at each other, and Jay was smirking at Jungwon. "Nevermind...I know now."

"I really love you guys a lot, I'll get going now." He hugged them once again, which turned into a group hug. Sunghoon had no choice but to join. It was like they're all about to separate.

Jake bid them goodbye and left the school.

"How was school Jake?" His f.mother asked. (f. Means foster)

"It was great! I finally talked to Jungwon and the others again!" He replied, stuffing his mouth with lasagna. "That's great news! I also heard that your surgery is in a few hours, are you ready...?" His f.father asked.

"Mhm, but I'll have to do something first." Jake answered.

"Oh okay."

"I love you Mom and Dad, thank you for taking care of me my whole life, I love you once again, Bye." Jake hugged them. It was raining loudly and heavily.

"You said a lot, why say all of those "I love you's" though? It's like you're leaving us." His f.mother asked, but waved him Goodbye, and so did his f.father.
