Maybe it's not as long as you would all like it to be and on top of being late, that kind of sucks. I'm really sorry for that, but I told you, midterms. I had a physics midterm that I was more than certain that I was going to fail, but I got a B! Haha! Alright, I'll let you get to reading this suckish and short part of this story. Lol, enjoy!

"What the hell was all of that about?" Aliyah asked again as soon as we were a safe distance away from the woods. I looked over at Damon and he just shrugged and mouthed 'I don't know.'

"Uh...where's Seth?" I asked in attempt to change the subject.

"Your house, don't change the subject again," Jordan said. "Answer the question please, bestie." I sighed and looked down at my hands. I wanted to tell them something cleaner than what the whole thing was. I didn't want to say that we've been followed around by the gang Damon used to be apart of that was after him because he killed the leaders brother in self defense a while ago. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I had to say.

"You see...what had happened was..."

"Nu uh, don't EVEN start that," Jordan said, knowing exaclty where I was going with that. I half sighed and half groaned.

"Fine," I said. "Okay what we are about to tell you cannot be repeated."

"Got it," Jordan said.

"I won't say a word," Aliyah said at the same time. I looked over at Damon to make sure that he didn't change his mind or anything. He nodded encouragingly at me which obviously meant that he hadn't changed his mind. I exhaled and looked up at the rear view mirror. Aliyah was turned in her seat so that she was looking back at us and Jordan was glancing every now and then in the rear view mirror at me. Something came to mind then. Why the hell am I explaining all of this? It's Damon's business, sort of mine too, but mostly Damon's. Eh, why couldn't HE explain it? Suck it up, Hayley. They would probably take it better if they heard it from me, I thought.

"Hayley," Jordan said. "Get on with it."

"Fine," I said. "Where do I start...."

"How about with who those guys back in the woods were," Aliyah suggested. I blew up my cheeks and then slowly released the air.

"Okay," I nodded. "Long story short, they were apart of Damon's old gang," I said quickly. Neither Jordan nor Aliyah said anything for a minute. Aliyah just stared back between me and Damon and Jordan stayed silent, eyes straight ahead. After that minute passed, Aliyah burst out laughing. Reluctantly, Jordan joined in her laughter after a moment.

"That's a good one, Hayls," Aliyah laughed, wiping her tears away.

"Very good," Jordan agreed. I looked at Damon and he shrugged. I sighed yet again.

"No, seriously," Aliyah said suddenly, quitting her laughter.

"That's really who they were," I said. Her eyes grew ten sizes and she looked at Damon. Jordan's eyes also grew.

"You- you mean...you really were in a gang?" Aliyah asked Damon. He nodded slowly.

"Back in my dumber days," he said. She gasped and quickly turned forward in her seat.

"Oh my god," she said. "My best friend is going out with a gangster!"

"Ex-gangster," I corrected.

"Same difference!"

"Nu uh! If he were a gangster, then that would mean he's still apart of the gang- which he's not so therefore, he's an EX-gangster!" I explained.

"Oh whatever!" Jordan dismissed. "What were they about to do in there? Kill you?"
