Vivienne's POV:
"... but he admitted to cheating on her with Lindsey the previous night! And then she slapped him and broke up with him. I mean good riddance. Who wants to date a cheating douche anyways. But I have also heard that Jackson is going to try winning her back. It most probably will be something mediocre from his side though like some flowers and stuff. Honestly, that's the most anyone can expect from him anyways. Rumour has it that he was found partying on his grandmother's funeral in the one of the guest rooms. Oh and remember when..."
Currently, Sam and I are in my room and she has been talking non-stop since we got back home. Apparently a famous couple broke up today and Sam thinks its imperative that I get to hear every single detail about their relationship and what lead to its demise, from their first kiss to their breakup.
I have no idea what people find so entertaining in gossiping about other's love lives. It's all the same anyways. The guy ends up cheating on the girl or vice versa and voila! They breakup. I can never be interested in these stories.
However, what I do find interesting is that odd new boy. I couldn't help but notice him in the parking lot at the end of school. Just sitting by himself on the pavement with his headphones and his eyes closed. One of the freshmen tried to approach him but as soon as he got in his 3 metre radius, his eyes shot open. I swear to god that dude has a sixth sense or something. This freaked out the freshmen and I honestly don't think anyone will ever try approaching him again.
But that makes me want to do it more. There is just something about his aura that makes me want to talk to him and get to know him. I have a feeling there is so much more to him than what he shows.
Well, he doesn't show ANYTHING for that fact but...
I will try approaching him tomorrow. Don't know why, don't know how, all I know is I am going to crack open his shell and figure out what that guy is all about.
"Are you even listening to me?"
I break out of my thinking trance and turn to a pouting Sam sitting with her arms crossed.
"Of course I was. You were talking about how Jackson and Madeleine broke up."
"Babe, that was 15 minutes ago."
"Oh..."
She shakes her head in defeat and starts to gather her belongings. This was supposed to be a study session but as you can tell, the purpose wasn't served quite successfully. That's the thing, whenever you are with Sam you just can't get her to sit down without starting with some new gossip every 5 minutes. I have no idea where she gets it from.
Probably her cheerleader friends.
"I think I should leave now. It's already 5:45 in the evening and I have to complete my chemistry assignment which is due tomorrow. I haven't even started with it yet! Why couldn't you have been in my chemistry class too?", Sam rants.
I just smile at her in response.
As we get up to leave my room, I stop her and ask her about the new guy. Out of all people, she is the one who will know something, if anything, about him.
"No. Nothing except for the fact that he got expelled from his previous school. Pretty strange in my opinion that that's all we know about him till now. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, no reason. I was just wondering."
She hums in response as her smile turns into a sly smirk.
And I absolutely hate that smirk. But it's Sam we are talking about. She won't leave any chance to ship me with the first guy whose name comes out of my mouth. It's bit of a problem she has.
I still remember when I had to sit her down and explain how she can't continue shipping me with my cousin and how him being adopted doesn't make anything better. How did I handle her all these years?
I have no clue.
After Sam left I decided to work on my assignments and watch The Office. That show never gets old. After binge watching three episodes, I got hungry. So I went downstairs to check the fridge for some icecream. Only to come to the realisation that we're out of it.
Food might be my only source of motivation to step out of the house. I take my bicycle and make my way to the nearest store.
"Oh hey Vivienne! Ran out of icecream again?", I am greeted by the lovely Ariana. She is the sweetest person I have ever come across.
"Yes unfortunately. This time I'm gonna take the classic vanilla flavour."
"Can't go wrong with that."
As I pay for my icecream, I hear the door open and in comes the person I least expected to be here.
The new boy.
He was wearing a rather large hoodie, with the hood covering his eyes. He walked into one of the aisles with his head down, not making conversation with anyone. I noticed him heading straight to section where popcorns were kept and take four packets of it.
That's a lot of popcorn...
Maybe he is hosting a movie night or something. But with him being so quiet and reserved, I can't imagine him having any friends.
That sounded so depressing.
I share a confused glance with the owner, Ariana as he quickly pays for the popcorns and walks out of the store.
"He came the other day as well. Just got popcorns like this time. Weird."
I nod in agreement as I step out of the store, locking my gaze at his back as he walks away silently to the direction I came from. I didn't see any bike or car in the area, meaning he must have come here by foot.
That means he must live close to my house.
I live in a pretty small neighbourhood and this store is one of the couple we have in this area. There is no way that we won't be running into each other if he really does live around here.
And maybe that's not entirely bad, because that guy did spike up my interest and him living so close only works in my favour.
But right now it's icecream time. We can wonder about him sometime later. Though, one thing I know for sure is that thing's are going to get interesting from now on.
