WINTER HAD ROLLED AROUND YET AGAIN AND EVERYONE WAS GOING OFF TO HOGSMEADE.
you and harry had watched everyone leave from the clock tower before going to retrieve his invisibility cloak. you weren't sure why, but you went with him anyways.
you were both under it, walking through the snow.
the twins were just a bit ahead, making a nicely shaped snowman.
so, is the plan here to get caught, or..?
both twins step away from the snowman, grabbing each of your arms.
"guys, let me go!" harry grunts.
"clever, you two"
you blink, "what?"
"but not clever enough"
"besides, we got a better way"
"come on, guys. we're trying to get to hogsmeade"

you turn to harry, "so that's what we were doing?"
he looks at you, "yeah? were you just following along for no reason?"
you shrug, "yeah"
"don't worry, we'll get you both there"
you raise an eyebrow.
harry was still struggling, you just walk with them.
"we'll show you a quicker way"

"let me go! come on,guys. don't..."
they bring you over to some stairs.
"now, you two"
"come and join the big boys" they say in sync, pulling off the invisibility cloak.
you blow some hair out of your face, fixing your hair.
"what are you doing?!" harry hisses, they both shush him, placing a piece of folded paper in his hands.
you look over at it curiously.
"what's this rubbish?" harry questions.
" 'what's this rubbish?', he says" they both chuckle.
"that there is the secret to our success"
"it's a wrench giving it to you, believe me"
"but we've decided your needs are greater than ours"
you snort slightly, "how thoughtful"
"george, if you will"
the labelled to be george takes out his wand, "i solemnly swear that i am up to no good"
he touches the page and writing suddenly appears on it.
"messrs. moony, wormtail, padfoot and prongs... are proud to present.. the marauders map" he reads aloud.
you look down at it.
"we owe them so much" george raises his eyebrows.
harry unfolds the paper, you look over his shoulder.
your lips part, it was a map of hogwarts.
"hang on. this is hogwarts. and that... no. is that really?"
"dumbledore"
"in his study"

"does that a lot"
you look at it in awe.
"so you mean this map shows-" "everyone"
"everyone?"
"where they are"
"what they're doing"
"every minute"

"brilliant! where'd you get it?"
"we nicked it from filch's office, of course"

"now, listen. there are seven secret passageways out of the castle. we'd recommend" "this one" they say in sync, pointing to one.
"the one-eyed witch passageway"
"it'll lead you to straight to honeydukes cellar."
"sugoi" you make a noise of awe
the twins look at you in confusion, "what's that even mean?"
you blink, "oh, it's japanese. it means like cool"
they blink simultaneously, "you're japanese?"
"yes? i thought it was obvious.."
they cough, looking back at the map.
"you best hurry. filch is headin' this way"
"oh, and you two, don't forget. when you're done, just give it a tap and say" "'mischief managed'"
george puts his wand back up against the paper and the words slowly disappear.
"otherwise anyone can read it"
